Well this is my first post on this forum, and i wanted to share a rendering of gallente prime (my vision) i made in blender, the textures themselfs are extrapolations from the EVE textures of the light map used in the in-game planet itself but the ground and the rest ive made up. I ignored the the temperatures and other stats ingame as they are way too unrealistic for a planet that would be habitable, specially for human life. This is my first one for EVE, im also planing on doing caldari prime (specially as there is some more info on its enviroment) and the other 2 for amarr and minnie. I hope u'll like it.

Well the render just around 1-2 minutes.
But overall it took me 3 days to complete textures, setting all the model render setiings and properties, testing.
I should probably show a better angle.

This is really, really nice.
would it be possible for you to send me a website where to learn and get the software to make this sort of stuff? i've seen it a few times and it's very interesting. I have no idea what to search for. |

Lynda.com
if you want to get started, download Blender (its free) and watch youtube tutorials.
if you want to get "serious" try to find an old version of 3ds Max (not too old though!) and download the lynda.com training, or look up digitaltutors training.
not that i condone it, but err.. sharing of Max might be in order if you don't really think you'll be going further with this sort of thing.
And, if your loaded, just buy 3ds Max 2009 for $3,499 and the lynda/didgital tutors stuff for around $400/year |
