EVE is a big community with a large diverse population. As such, there should me many of you who are either in recovery, as i am, or who have a desire to stop drinking. It is in that vein that I'm opening a public room for pod pilots to help other pod pilots find what we have: sobriety. The room will be open for general conversation, fellowship, and meetings as population and desire dictates.
This room is an Open Meeting Place...as such all are welcome and all are encouraged to share or just listen at your comfort level.
We will follow the 12 steps and 12 traditions of AA for general purposes.
If this is your first exposure to AA dont fear: your anonymity is assured in a way that even a RL meeting cant manage. And, we may be able to help direct you to local resources for your continued recovery and support needs.
For those in recovery, please think of this as a supplement to your current path of recovery. This is not meant to be anyone's home group. It is simply another way to help the alcoholic in need.
No flaming, bashing or disrespect will be allowed in room. And we ask that anything you hear in the room be treated with confidence...as you would in any meeting of AA.
You can find us in game! so, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and join room: alcoholics anonymous club house |

LOL, this was the exact thought that went through my head the moment I saw the thread title.
Anyways a friendly bump, for a noble venture. Help for those who ask.

I remember when I had to leave town because of a crack ******* addiction, the recovery house i went to sent me to an AA meeting my first night. Well this meeting was the 40th anniversary of that particular monday night meeting, and they had a lot of old timers speak, and other friends of BillW.
Then they had a countdown of the longest sobriety to the shortest. When they got to 4 days I put my hand up. It turned out I was the guy there with the shortest amount of sobriety and they gave me a AA book that I still have today. The feeling when they called me up to accept the book and speak was so spiritual and uplifting.
Im getting tears in my eyes thinking about this today, this was ten years ago....
I have that AA book, and have friend at work who is in his early twenties and in rehab right now. Hes pretty much the same age I was when I was going through hell. Even though alcohol was not my drug of choice I found AA meetings worked well, good on you.. Sorry for the rambling...
