They say imitation is the highest form of flattery.
While I found it quite amusing upon first contact, warping to a station on an alt and thinking 'WTF am I doing outside the station in a pod? And not outlaw? And on my overview? And why is there two of me in local?' I soon realised the potential gravity of the situation.
This knave has been on and off for the past few days, convoing my corp members asking for iskies. He has been petitioned but CCP are taking their time doing anything about it, if I convo you please make sure that it is the real me and not this imposter.

He might have been asking for loans but has he actually claimed to be you?

The only reason I asked was that there is, at least, in my mind a difference between him actually CLAIMING to be you on the one hand, and on the other PASSIVELY scamming by banking on people not checking the imposter's info etc. I'm sure CCP would make the distinction too

Perhaps, perhaps, and in all likelihood I do indeed agree with you. However, CCP might see it differently - if there is active impersonation, I'm pretty sure the banhammer will fall quickly (as it has in the past)
Just look at my interlopers who have fallen by the wayside - Captains Obvious, Prompt, and Smelly. All gone! (though I dispatched them through the awesome power of my mind rather than petitioning ^^) |
