Hey,
Seems everyone is ranting about Falcon's and ECM so I thought I would post a random idea that would nerf it. I don't really have a problem with ECM .. seems like its only effective when used on a BB or a Falcon, and in those cases its a one trick random pony.
Anyhoo the idea:
A succesfull ECM jam will unlock a single random targeted ship, and not allow a relock on that target until the jam duration is complete.
Example: Falcon, Thorax and Industrial jump gate. Mega camper on the other sidebegins targeting them all as they decloak. Flacon jams the mega, Mega looses lock on the Thorax. Mega cant relock Thorax. Mega's lock finishes on falcon and industrial and kills the industrial, facon warps away.
Yeah its kinda a wierd idea. Dont really know if its feasible. (its friday after noon @ work) What do you guys think?

How about ECM bounce? If the ECM cycle fails on your target, it bounces back to you and cycles on yourself. Win, eh?

How about you instead take signal boosters or other methods? That way when the falcon tries to jam you you can still lock it?
A more serious discussion was going on somewhere on this board that would change the bonus of the falcon to fall off instead of optimal which would change the choices for rook/falcon to do I want to snipe(rook) or do I risk it by using my cloak to close the gap(falcon). I believe that was the gist of the discussion.

I dont see what you are trying to get at. Could you explain it futhur? (its friday at work .. brain isent working the best(
To clarify my idea: If you get jammed you loose a lock on a random ship (either in progress or fully locked) and cannot lock or re-lock that one ship for the duration of the jam.
Another example: i.e your targeting three or more ships, you get jammed by a one module's successful jam, one of those three ships is not target-able for the duration of the jam. Whether it was a partial or full lock.
So instead of a successful jam meaning that you cant target any ship, it was a full or partial lock, it just means that one random ship is not target-able.
That make any more sense? |

What do we have to counter ECM?
Information Warfare Link - Sensor Integrity
Ship Equipment: Electronic Warfare: ECCM
Ship Equipment: Electronic Warfare: Projected ECCM
Ship Equipment: Electronic Warfare: Sensor Backup Arrays
The tools are there, use them before complaining.
