Hi guys
So i just bought a shiny new vulture and was wondering what setup i should look into for it. I know some are you are going to say get into a nighthawk, but i am working with a crew of missioners and they want the extra gang bonuses. so please no suggestions on getting a different ship.
right now i have this setup 5x 250 rails t2-anti 2x gang bonus
2x LSE 4x Hardeners
1x DC T2 1x PDU T2 2x Mag Stab T2
2x Core Purgers
thanks guys for the help

Hm, cap eating guns + passive tank might be tricky. At first i was going to suggest getting additional LSE II and 2x SPR II but you would have to check if your cap wouldnt die too fast. If cap will be an issue, go for PDUs in lows, DC II is waste of slot IMO unless you do missions in low sec and want that few extra seconds. I assume you wont be the only person tanking, so buffer you got will be sufficient.

If I was you I'd fit an active tank with PDS in the low slots. Remember gank links use cap as well as the rails so a buffer/passive tank won't be very good for the gang. You shouldn't be the tank as your providing bonuses as well as supplying damage. Would help more if you told us what the other ships are in your mission crew as well as the numbers so we can help suggest a better fit.

I really recommend missles for the highs. You only get a range bonus on the Vulture for the rails, so you won't lose out on any potential DPS, whereas you will be locked into two damage types with the lows. _______________ Pwett Founder <Q> QUANT Hegemony

Edited by: XXSketchxx on 10/01/2009 14:02:26 Working in a gang? Fit max tank; damage is secondary. As others have said, make sure cap is not an issue. Using those guns may make it one so I'd go with HMLs as above poster suggested. Something like this:
Highs:
3x Shield Gang Links 4x HML IIs (maybe even assault missile launchers to deal with frigates if DPS is sorted amongst your gang
Mids:
3x Mission Specific Hardeners 2x LSE 1x 10mn AB
Lows
3x PDUs 1x SPR
Rigs
Purgers
Edit: lows for cap stability

the group is a domi, a mega, 2 hurricanes, and a mael. The big thing is that we all do different missions at the same time, maybe taking more time, but it works for us. |

So you're going to be doing missions in the vulture separate from them?
If so, I still so go missiles.
Lows:
3x BCS, not sure about 4th due to tight CPU
Mids:
Same as above
Highs:
5x HML IIs 1x Shield harmonizing 1x Shield efficiency
This gets plenty of tank for lvl 3s, maybe some lvl 4s. However, if you are solo there is no way you'll manage a lvl 4. Simply not enough DPS. Also, note this setup gets more DPS than a rail setup and is cap stable. Final note, how many missions are you guys running? Chances are you won't be in the same system many times and thus will not be getting bonuses.

Vulture is a support ship. Be all supportive.
[Vulture, Support] Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II
Large Shield Extender II Large Shield Extender II Large Shield Extender II Large Shield Extender II Large Shield Extender II Invulnerability Field II
Siege Warfare Link - Active Shielding Siege Warfare Link - Shield Efficiency Siege Warfare Link - Shield Harmonizing Medium Diminishing Power System Drain I Medium Diminishing Power System Drain I Small Shield Transporter II Improved Cloaking Device II
Core Defence Field Purger I Core Defence Field Purger I
Light Shield Maintenance Bot I x5
If you MUST solo missions in it:
Buy a Nighthawk. End of story. The Vulture sucks for that. Yes I saw your "don't tell me to get a Nighthawk" caveat.

You need to use Caldari BCS and HMLs for CPU, but before any implants are taken into effect: 1052 DPS tank versus Sansha 356 DPS output
More than enough.
