Gnomes Rock	Posted - 2009.01.10 15:10:00 - [1] Hey, I currently mainly use my mobile phones for music, and need help deciding between two; The w595, or the w760. Note that I would be getting the black and orange version of the w595. Also note that on contracts both would be free, with the w595 giving 200 minutes and unlimited texts for ú20 a month, and the w760 giving 600 mintues and unlimited texts for ú20 a month. I think I prefer the w595, but I did want the w980 for awhile so I don't know anymore. Halp.

Fyrewyre	Posted - 2009.01.11 13:19:00 - [6] Cool, a topic i might actually know about. I own a w910i on o2, I was really disappointed with the model after upgrading from the k750i. The Walkman sucked. The Camera also sucked. The Customization was lacking. However, SE phones are very tweakable using the correct software, after I worked out that the acoustics display and camera were soft moddable to utilize the hardware fully it turned into an awesome phone. My Walkman now uses a modded driver to increase volume and bass (it is now pretty bloody good) My Camera is using a modded Cybershot Driver (Omnivision is the name i think) increasing colours and picture quality The menu system has modded icons and a changed layout (I'm picky) Installed flash menu themes and debranded it (removed operator logo and all the daft o2 stuff they bung onto phones!!) This stuff works with just about any SE phone. The w760 is sexy btw Linkage

I bought myself a 4gb memory card for it (it comes standard with a 1gb) and its more then enough to keep myself entertained listening to music.

Seriously - They pack so much useless eye-candy into interfaces now that they're so **ing slow. Texting means I have to WAIT for the phone to actually display the character I want because on each button press it brings up this stupid little bar so you can see what characters are available on that particular button. I mean the hardware is good, the Camera is obviously decent and as a phone its a lot better than my old Nokia thing.. The buttons are ing dreadful as they're angled towards you and rather than "clicking" they have this horrid soft-click that makes me wanna put my thumb through the damn thing. Not to mention the damn thing has crashed twice on me in the space of half a month - no idea WHY it crashed, it just crashed sitting there doing nothing. Anyone got any resources as to how I can mod the OS to get rid of all these useless animations and **? Its 2009 - and I still have to wait for something as simple as a phone to catch up with me.

Check my above post. (the one with the link) You need to access the internal phone filesystem and after you do it is as simple as dragging and dropping files into it. The software needed is called A2uploader, sign up to the forums, they have tonnes of tutorials and workarounds for SE mobile phones.
