This weekend some characters that were members of Genco stole everything Genco had in their prime HQ's. Including all Tech 1 BPO's ingame - except for the BS BPO's Genco owns -, 600M ISK, all items, tech 2 items, all ships. They cleansed everything from Genco that the corp have worked to get during the course of EVE since the start.
Harberk & Drakowolf are the main brains behind this corp theft. Add Apostle Benedict and Dragoon Sword to the list of thieves, when I and Genco get more proof we'll make sure you'll get noticed.
Its a sad day for Genco, including Imperial Dragoons and Absolut Profit who have merged with Genco in course of history. Luckily the Interceptor BPO's that Absolut Profit brought to Genco were safe from the thieves.
Take Sixkiller for example, who had played this game EXTENSIVELY much. He put everything he owned into the corp hangars of Genco. Now everything he have accumulated, except his ISK, is gone - stolen by the guys in Rebels Ltd.
I urge every rightful player out there to punish the thieves and make sure their ships won't be safe in the future.
Over and out from a player that have been part of Genco for 11 months gametime.

You can get more background and information if you point your attention to this thread instead. That one is written by Rufus Kex who is the current CEO of Genco.

Thats utter crap, Genco are decent guys, but rely on trust as part of their corporate system..
even if they recover financially, their corporate structure will probably have to change to protect against this. _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. "Can I be a consultant for EVE II?" - WhiteDwarf |

This sucks. I do empathize with you on this situation. Tongue in cheek here, but I almost wonder if us who have been "had" in the past, start a support group.
This kind of crap utterly demoralizes players, and I remember losing a few members after we got our stuff swiped. Not too mention the "trust" factor goes down, and the "paranoia" factor goes off the chart. Does not make for a fun game after the theft.
Wish you guys the best.

well nieo has said who the thieves r so just make sure they on all ur KOS lists ;)
lowest of the low. people like rufus kex and sixkiller (as stated by nieo) have built the corp for over a year now to get it where it was, and to have someone they thought they could trust, who had been a member for a long tiem come and nick everything from the corp hangers would 1: get memebers seriously ****ed off, 2: make some of them quit the game 3: cry :'(
i doubt #3 though, its usually #1

That sucks. I hope they get what they deserve. Its getting harder and harder to trust ppl in eve. Noticing that this occurs every week some corp gets robed by lame ass ppl. This will destroy the image of corps, sonn the corps will consist of RL friends or freelancers(maybe).
Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.

As someone from omega corp said. Corptheft is something I would not even wish our enemies to happen. And OC is ours :)
I will put them on our KOS list. (EDIT: with them, I meant the corpthieves)

This has happened so many times, to so many good corps.... sadly, I really can't bring myself to feel bad about it any longer. People should have figured out by now how to protect themselves from these types of situations.
Hope it works out, and those guys recover financially..

You know...I do tend to agree with the fact that it appears it happens to so many people, but the nature of the corp theft has changed. It's no longer the complete stranger and the existing structure in place making some dumb errors, but rather the trusted and long term individual within the corp that decides it is better to put out on their own.
Now, not knowing all the details of this one, it appears that people long on the Corp list are the ones responsible. Granted, the argument can be made the access should never have been given to the individuals in the first place, but a question remains:
At what point do you start to open up access? When does an individual move from the "member" point to the "trusted member"? The only way to have 100% certainty a corp theft will never occur is to never allow anyone access to the hangars, or keep everything in personal slots. Not very conducive to running a corp if you are trying to grow the business. Currently, as pointed out by many others, there is no viable mechanism in place to combat this other than the bounty system, and even that's limited in its scope.
Again, my smypathies go out, all the best.
