I frequently come accross a very new character (the youngest I've seen was 6 days old) who is stealing my salvage.
The frequency of this issue makes me think that perhaps people are repeatedly setting up trial accounts to gather stuff that's worth millions without any risk.
Perhaps salvaging should be limited to the full accounts? |

For the last time, it's not your salvage. If you don't want somebody else to get it, salvage as you go, or bring a friend to do it for you. |

Why the hell would anyone set up a trial to salvage? It doesn't confer them any benefits. More than likely just a newbie ninjasalvaging. Not high-SP profession to get into.

A) Probably not trial accounts, probably just normal alts, not extra accounts, because it only takes a few days to train for. B) Not abuse, anyway, so what's the problem? .............

A trial account would mean another free game client salvaging stuff worth millions of isk.
While other trial limitations such as the money transfer or industrial skill training limits make trial alts less useful, salvaging gives the owner a very profitable advantage.

So, I believe CCP has a reason to implement an isk transfer limitations to trial accounts, while a much more lucerative salvage option is there to abuse.
Let's say you got one paid account and one trial account. You can get trial alt ready to salvage in a couple of days. Then either have the alt support you in salvaging while you kill the rats (saving you hours), or send it over to other people's kills (bringing in millions) while you are mining. When the trial ends, just start another one. So you get a salvaging alt without paying a penny for it ever.

I think you missed the main point. You dont need and alt/noob to salvage others wrech. If i come and salvage "your" loot , you cant do nothing, exept to try to salvage first. If you attack me, concord will protect me instead of you ( and later i will salvage also your wrech and if worth even loot your poor rests before to warp out).
Noob alts are made for other reasons ( mostly : hi sec suicide gankers) , but if you see a noob salvage , most likely it's just what they appear: noob char that found a easy way to get cash.

Fail. Try it before moaning, and you will see that this is impossible.

They limit ISK transfers on trial accounts to stop ISK sellers from transferring their money around easily.
Also, your scenario doesn't work. You can't run a trial account at the same time as a paid account.

You can, if you got two computers, or possibly running virtual OS's in the same machine. It's a client check, not an IP check.
But if your other point is correct, and the isk limit is not for alts, but for isk sellers, then I guess it's ok. |
