Edited by: Dr Caymus on 12/01/2009 02:39:55 If I remember correctly, a jet can holds 27,500 m3. You'll need to upgrade your Iteron V with Expanded Cargohold modules in the low slots (may as well use Cargo Expander IIs... they are not very expensive) and Cargohold Optimization modules in the rigging slots (I think you can get to the needed capacity using Tech I modules here).
I do not remember if the percentage increases are additive or compound in benefit; probably just additive. Experiment to determine the number of each needed to reach your goal. Also, be attentive to the drawbacks of each module... you will lose ship velocity, armor hit points and structure hit points.

+ cheaper much + more space than with rig - can not put courier contracts inside a GSC - bigger ships dont fit inside a GSC
OR
Expanded Cargohold II x 5 Cargohold Optimizer I
+ can take courier contracts + bigger ships fit - much more expensive - can not repackage |

is the OP asking how to scoop a jet can and then bring it back to the station to repackage it and not get a theft flag? |

Ok thx all for the answers. No its not to steal don't worry it happened to me and it sucks.
I was just asking what mods I needed to scoop a whole 27.5k can in one shot. Right now I need to make 2 trips with my badger to empty my can.
Thx for the help, I was hoping I didn't need cargohold optimization II because that way too expensive! |

I've got a hauling alt so yep full lows of Expanded II's and a single Cargohold optimization I rig.
As others have pointed out you can get away with the multiple GSCs in smaller ships but then you loose the "at one gulp" capability which is arguably more important to saving your carpal tunnel.

Base cargo on an Itty V is 6000 m3. Each Expanded Cargohold II module increases the previous amount by 27.5%. The Itty V can hold 5 of them, if I remember correctly.
0 EC II = 6000 m3 1 EC II = 7650 m3 2 EC II = 9753.75 m3 3 EC II = 12436.03 m3 4 EC II = 15855.93 m3 5 EC II = 20216.31 m3
Add one Cargohold Optimization I for another 15% and you have 23248.75 m3. With your 25% for having Gallente Industrial V it puts you at 29060.93 m3. Even without the rig you can do it if you use GSCs as was mentioned. It's just a little more of a hassle because you have to load each can separately. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

Actually, a full rack of exp. cargohold IIs plus 3 GSCs will get it, you don't need all 8 to fit a full jetcan.

Edited by: AleRiperKilt on 13/01/2009 14:57:11 no need for rigs, just fill up lows with expanded cargo II and you have around 25k of space. Almost a full jetcan.
I use this setup to pickup hauler spawn loot in 0.0: Highs: Tractor Beam, Cloak Meds: 4 x medium shield extenders, 1 x small shield extender Lows: All Expanded Cargo II
In empire you don't need tank so put afterburner and anything that fits in mids. Maybe a couple of sensor boosters with scan resolution script to lock faster.

Actually, in order to even FLY an Itty V, you need Gallente Industrial level 5, which boosts the base of the ship to 7,500 m3 as soon as you step into it.
Now add your math for cargo optimizers and rigs.

full expander II's and cargo opti I rigs will give you ~38,000 m3.
Same expanders with cargo opti II rigs gives ~ 43,000. |

put cargo expander II's in the lows and put 1 cargo rig and you should scoop the full can in one go.. nothing else is needed bar a tractor |

There is no rule that says you need to fill your jetcan to capacity. I stop filling it when it's at about 25K, and then I can scoop it into my unrigged iteron V with a full rack of cargohold expander II's. The rig seems more expensive than it is worth to me.

Maybe just train for a hulk instead of spending the 20+ days on indie 5. ... Unless your goal is freighter. You will need <insert race> indie 5 to begin <insert race> freighter skill. --------------------

I went with t2 expanders in the lows an three t1 cargo rigs, like 38k m3 I believe. Think if you use one t2 rig and two t1 it pushes it just over 41k m3 but that's a tad expensive

Add 12 GSC'S to that and you can get 48,800 m3 :)

Yeah I've used gsc's in the past, but since I have an orca and getting a freighter for this hauler alt soon haven't had the need to move stuf in cans for awhile. |
