Im left with 3 choices:
Zealot, Abaddon or Ishtar
The way i see it Zealot has dmg but his tank is kinda weak ( im fitting 3 dmg mods on my ship ). It cannot salvage
Abaddon Good damage good tank but it is slow and it will eat a lot of Scorch L charges.
Ishtar Fast, can salvage, tank is no problem, but his dmg is kinda low. Im thinking Ogre II's ( they do more dmg than Praetors so pls dont argue here ) until i can use Curator IIs.
Now salvage is important because im running this with a friend in a torp raven thats gonna leave a lot of BS wrecks in the belts. Is it better to go for abaddon or zealot and get a small ship to salvage after ? :| Im thinking no.
Help me out here. Discuss

Edited by: Gadawan on 12/01/2009 13:11:20 Zealot should be fast enough to evade BS damage and I think it can tank what ever frigates and cruisers the belts can throw at you. Ratting in a BS is boring as hell... |

Would say Ishtar since it can salvage and the Raven can happily take care of the BS's while you will burn through cruisers and frigates. Another AF option would be the retribution, with the right fittings that has both a mean tank and gank.

Out of the Amarr BS, I would have to say the best for me is the Apocalypse. With T2 Pulse, bit of range extension, those Amarr Navy crystals will reach out a good distance. Rats far off when you warp in? Not a problem, 80km Scorch is more than enough and so while it does less DPS it can start hitting earlier than the Abaddon or Armageddon. Also drone travel lowers isk per hour but you could just use sentries on the 'geddon to get round that.
I think I had 807dps at 27km+9km. Unfortunately I had to use mine on Guristas, but if it can chew through them happily it will have no trouble with Sansha. |

Assuming shanshas..
Tbh the ishtar is ideal for all rats but the drone changes mean you have to pull you drone back and swap for lights to deal with frigs, which hampers it a bit, plus the fact you need to get more drones when you loose them. Then again, 500 dps from ogres isn't bad
Zealot on the other can happily deal 620-630 (rat specific) dps assuming cheap implants and navy hs with no ammo issues at all, actually in my case i only do 490-500 dps since i only use 4 guns (cloak ftw) and be cap stable with the rep, although the mwd you'll need to burst but it will run for afew min with the rep on, more than enough time to reach rats.
In any case, if you're running torp raven too all you really need to do is remove the smaller ship, in which case the zealot is the no brainer. |

Omen navy issue > Zealot here - more damage, can fit a cloak.
Why not a Harbinger? __________________________________

Agreed, but it's only higher because of drones which again need replaced when lost. Also, it's more difficult to fit and harder to acquire in 0.0, not to mention a more tempting target but yes, if you fit right it's better than the zealot since it don't loose the turret for cloak/salvage. Then again, those resists are wonderful. ***The EVE servers and their patches*** |

Harbinger actually has slightly more gun dps (7*1.25 = 8.75) than the Zealot (5*1.25/0.75 = 8.333...), and the Zealot has the same EM/Therm resists as the Harbinger... much better Ex/Kin resists, but those of course don't help against sansha. A Zealot will work perfectly well of course and I'd imagine that your isk/hour is going to be more dependent on how lucky you are with the belts than anything else. __________________________________

Actually i ment the navy omen, not the harb. either way isk is only part dependant on spawns, the time it take to reach belts, then spawns which is why hac > bs/bc ***The EVE servers and their patches*** |
