If you are getting disconnected from the EVE servers and the game is crashing back to the login screen, please could you respond if your internet connection utilises the USB bus.
I ask because I access the internet via USB -> ISDN2 and get this problem, yet when I connect with my plain old 56k modem I can stay logged on for ages (at least 3 hours).
Just wondering if the USB bus is a common issue. If it is and enough people shout loudly enough, perhaps they can spend some time to address it.

If you disconnect depending on what hardware you use I don't think it will matter how much you protest, CCP can't fix this.
The game uses your opertaing systems TCP/IP or perhaps UDP driver that in turn uses a driver to your hardware. Be it a NIC, USB or serial port for modem.
EVE cannot do anything else but talk to the TCP/IP layer. If something fails after that there is nothing to be done.
Hopefully you can setup your USB connection using other drivers that are not diconnecting you.

It still seems odd that I only get disconnects with EVE. Every other game I've run (admittedly no MMOGs') talks to the stack just fine.
I'm going to be trying an ISDN router tonight, failing that I'll try a PCI TA. I'll post the results up here if I get any. I was just curious to find out if there was a USB/stack issue since it's a shared bus.

Ok, got the router working, and hey presto, it works. Must be the BT ISDN USB driver then :(

Sensai, any chance you could explain to me what it is you actually did to get this working? It seems i have the same problem, i have a BT ADSL modem, and i suspect its the USB 2.0 drivers.
What did you use etc?
Any info would be appreciated.
(and if anyone sees this and can let sensai know about my request i would be reallllly appreciative!)

Where is it that you got your drivers? I have an Intel USB setup, but their site is unable to help me. And as the previous post stated, how as it that you did it? I am not a computer whiz, and need step by step instructions on how to install drivers and ensure that they work right.

Meph,
I installed the drivers with the disk that came with the BT Modem (apparently they are a 3rd party set of drivers but are Micro$oft certified). I then tried out the BT website for updates and did a complete reinstall of the modem using these.... it SEEMS! to of worked (fingers crossed). I can only suggest u try your manufacturers web site to see if theres any new drivers out there.

Also have a look at my post on the "random disconnects" issue. I would suggest you junk your USB modem, and go external RS232 instead:

I could be way off but I found a way to completely stop my random disconnects permanently. I am using an ISDN line and I connect via a (proxy-less) LAN.
All I did was make sure I had an active chat channel open. I opened the help channel and had it active all the time when my corp or local channel was quiet.
I managed to not diconnect even ONCE in about 4 hours. Note that I was doing stuff that previously caused diconnects at least once or twice during an hour.
Dunno if this is the solution but it certainly helped me, so maybe you could give it a shot.
P.S. And the help channel is ALWAYS a source of useful info durimg those long jumps ;)
