I'm new to the game.. well... I suppose playing for a couple of months isn't NEW but I think it is.
I want to be a hauler/courier runner. Right now I can only do the high sec stuff since I'm in a slow moving Iteron V, I can't afford to loose my implants since I don't make much money for now... etc. I want to eventually run through the pirate barricades and all that exciting stuff but for now.. I'm all about High Sec.
My problem is this... I am so entirely sick of having to load the routes for ALL of these contracts JUST so I can find ONE that pays OKAY money and is in high sec. It's getting REAL old having to sort through the scammers and a-holes that setup traps in low sec nightmares. What's worse, the guys who setup the traps don't setup 1 contract.. they setup 10 contracts using 5 different names... you can't even remove them. For every 20 contracts 18 of them are in low sec or have at least 1 low sec jump.
WHY can't you give us BETTER search options?
I mean.. it's a frikin database.. just give a check box named "Do not include contracts with low security jumps". How about giving us an option to set the a price range on the reward? I don't even want to see these cheap people who want 25,000 m3, valued at 100m moved for a reward of 100k isk for 15 jumps.
Why is the searching function for contracts so basic and so damn lame? Even the advanced options are terrible! What gives?
Is there a website or application that helps you wade through the garbage to find those great gems? Those nice 2m-5m reward contracts for high sec space?

i have a freighter and it is redundant because of such, i now only use it for friends and that will give me a decent payout. |

There is no need. Learn your routes and the people that put up the couriers. There is very good isk to be made in high sec but you will only have a few minutes to claim the contracts before someone else does (PvP). Wednesday night is not the time for example. |

While I agree on one level with your frustration about the...challenged...contracts database, I also think it is more important for you to understand the entirety of your options.
What do I mean? Well, you can set the market to ignore low/null-sec systems, but doing so removes the ability to see the potential profits available out there. Leaving that box unchecked, also forces the trader to better analyze his/her options for taking advantage of said opportunities.
If you haven't gotten the Stategic Maps or checked out Ombey's excellent maps, you need to do so in order to quickly gauge routes and locations. You say you have implants and an Itty V, well consider getting a free-JC via Estel's wonderful service and getting into a cheap/fast frigate or shuttle and scout out some routes. Get to know the other side of the hi/lo-sec interface. Train up to use a blockade runner.
So, in time, you'll not only be able to scan the contracts quickly for scams, but will also have a very good idea of the risks/gains that can be had from legitimate lo/null-sec hauls.
Fly safe.

Not all lowsec couriers are traps.... I'm not saying there are no traps into lowsec but not all of them are.
There are people that need stuff delivered to or from lowsec, same as in highsec. Sometimes they can't go to highsec due to their sec and their alt is not available (cyno'ing somewhere maybe?).
Multiple contracts from the same guy can also mean that a) he wants to reduce the required cargo space for his courier contract to avoid that you need a pimped out hauler or a freighter to deliver it. So he creates multiple contracts instead of one big one. b) this also helps with risks. Instead of you having to accept a big collateral and haul it in one step, you can bring them into lowsec one at a time. If you do get ganked, you only loose one package, not all of them.
There are things you can do to check if it's a legit courier contract or not. Check his contract history or the contract history of the corp. If it's a trap contract, you'll only see a few succesful courier contracts and multiple failed ones. Watch out for those. If you see a bazillion succeeded couriers and only once in a while a failed one, it's most likely a legit contract. |

You can block contract owners. If they are guaranteed scammers, simply block that guy and all his contracts are removed. Even if it's only 5 or 6, you won't see his contracts the next time he makes another batch. Do the same with the other ones that are clearly traps and you'll end up with just the good ones pretty fast. |

Just so I'm absolutely clear... the only "solution" is the work-around you provided here in this thread.
There exists no website or 3rd party application to filter your searches more effectively or efficiently? |

As far as I know, the API doesn't provide an export of the available contracts, which is what you need for a 3rd party tool. |

Mail me ingame with your hi-sec routes and cargo capacity. I might be looking to setup some trading routes on a regular basis.
