QFT, but the cost alone would prevent them from being overly used in pvp. When you fly around in a slow, 700M ship, you are bound to attract any hostiles in a 10 jumps radius, and you're also going to be THE primary once they get there. Only the filthy rich or madman would do it with any sort of regularity. ------------------------------------------

How the hell can it be an isk sink when it doesn't remove isk from the game? Quite the opposite - it devalues isk when it's destroyed by reducing amount of goods in economy

well there's ur prob :P. i mean compare any t1 frig to its t2 counter part. sure i wish a Tristan could fit cruise's and cloak but meh. your comparing 2 ship hulls, not 2 ship types, the marauder IS NOT a battleship, its a marauder, simple as.
At it core, its a very skill intensive ship, and has a price to match. pvp players already have the option to invest that same amount of SP into carriers + dreadnoughts. mission runners don't get any luxarys like that and its about time the PVE community got some love, as battleships get boring after a while, and with the added lvl 5 mission etc, marauders make that possible, but also easier for the mission runner to enter low sec to complete said missions.
Personally? i wouldn't be stupid enough to even consider the pvp ability's of a marauder, if i wanted to waste 750m of isk, id hire you to compare an omen to a zealot and winge about the zealots lesser tank.

WTS: Economics I
Selling goods is not an ISK sink, it merely transfers ISK from one person to another.
And as for the ECM issue, yes, if a Falcon has picked you as a priority target, you're probably going to be jammed whether you have 15 sensor strength or 50. But remember, there's more than just Falcons jamming stuff, ever hear of these little things called ECM drones? Making marauders suicidally vulnerable to every random Thorax with ECM drones is a very elegant way of making them unappealing choices for PvP, but without actually ruling it impossible. ==========
Merin is currently enjoying a 14 day vacation from the forums. Until she returns, you've got me to entertain you!

I really don't see the problem, the only one that needs looking at is the LOLVARGUR (no I don't fly one). ... and I really think they should boost T2 plate HP.

When i say isk sink i mean its a way to make the economy work more. If marauders would be used for pvp then marauders would get lost in fights therefore there would be need for more to build using resources etc. If we take the exact opposite for example lets suppose no ships being lost to pvp then the economy would sink since noone would buy modules ships etc so noone would need to build them so noone would need to gather materials and the game's world would become more shallow. Is it so hard for you to see?
So if Marauders would have not the sensor weaknes perhaps it would encourage more people to use them for pvp. I wouldn't but it's not nice to set certain barriers to the game. Let the player decide what to use were and don't prenerf the ships. I repeat i wouldn;t use them even on that case and i consider idiot anyone who would and is not a multibillioner. It costs 7 times miore to a BS . It should at least be equal in sensor stregth. |

ok, lets compare that to a real world example, say a magazine,Zaran's weekly news. now if people buy 1 copies of Zaran's weekly news, and decide they don't need to buy any more, does that mean less trees will get cut down? nope. does it mean they wont get built as much? yes.
Transfer that back to eve, yes your right, not many marauders would be built BUT that has nothing to do with what resources are mined. crafters don't just say "well no one wants to buy this ship any more, better quit the game" , they take the same amount of resources and invest them into something else.
end of the day, if they removed Marauders from the game right now, the impact on the market would be a mere flick, and the only effect to the market would be a bunch of ****ed off BPO / BPC owners, and a few traders who had a few up for sale.

The kronos is awesome imo and i use it when i get the chance , its worth every penny the 74 kills i've had with it proves it , i use it when a rapier or hugin is not around.
As for the cost i quote a good bit of advice i was givin about 5 years ago "don't fly what u can't afford" .. ... |
