So I`m pretty new to the game, played it off and on for a while, been so far just sticking to myself, doing missions, stuff like that. But I would`nt mind finding someone to show me the ropes. I dont want any ISK, I think I`ve done OK for myself in that respect, but someone to give me tips. Thanks in advance.

You're welcome to join my chat channel, STARBREAKERS, any time. The best thing for you though may be to join a good player corporation. |

Joining a good player corporation is really the best way to go. Try to find one which does a little bit of everything so you can get a good idea of what's available and also talk to and get advice from all kinds of players. Your corp will have a big effect on your EVE experience, so choose it carefully. ;) ---------- Now recruiting:

There are several corporations who aim to get newer pilots involved into the more social aspects.
Eve University is one, for example. I know there are more... just can't think of any of the top of my head.

Many corps have public chat-channels. That can be a good way to meet pilots with similar interests. However... "show the ropes" to what? You want to learn how to be the best pirate? The best miner? The best mission runner? The best industrialist? The best <insert goal here>?
Figure out what you want to do, and find pilots who do that. Read through the Recruitment forum threads, get a feel for who is doing what you enjoy (or aim for). There's lots of contact info in those posts, as well as descriptions of what they do. Maybe they won't take newer pilots, but you can learn a lot by talking with the more social ones.
Figuring out a career path early can be useful. It lets you focus on relevant skills you need. You can always change careers later (and alter your skill plans accordingly), but you're off to a strong start if you can decide what it is you actually want to do right now... and train for that.

Eve Uni is very good for an overall course in Eve. Highly recommand them.
Blood Money Bootcamp advertizes themselves as a pirate teaching corp. I'm not familar with them myself, but they seem competent.
Both require voice comms.
Our own Noob Mercs will get you a crash course in corp wars. No voice reqs.
Apart from corps that are just starting out and desperate to grab new members, there's also many in the recruitment forum that will accept new people to tutor them. You might find some 0.0 sec action there too if that's your cup of tea.
