The (imo) only solution to the shortage situation on Fac/Lab slots would be to make them renteable again when they haven't been used for a week or two.
Money isn't really an issue, but time is. If some ppl have rented ****loads of slots, they might be easily able to pay even an increased rent, but they will get into trouble when they are forced to actually use them.
Just an idea.....

I agree we at LOKI inc. Use like 1/6 of our factory slots on average. We would happily stop renting the rest if there was any chance to get access to more letar when we do need them. -------------- When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this - you haven't. ------------------ (Thomas Edison) |

Agreed - If a Factory slot, or Research Slot has not been used in 2 weeks, then the rent should not be renewed, and the slot will be freed.
Perhaps the bill should be paid in person every 2 weeks?

The current situation only keeps ppl out of production, especially newer subscribers. As i noticed there are some constellations, where everything is rented, but theres nothing for sale on market, which indicates that most of the slots aren't used.
Free unused slots, otherwise the dream of player-driven economy could turn into a nightmare ;-p

Just logged in to see if they fixed the lab and factory issue. lol, like they fix much of anything in EVE.
Exactly why my account will be closed at next billing.
I gave them over a month to fix something of this magnitude after wasting my beta time, subcription, and POS cd. My Corp (35 members) was dissolved, as I cannot waste my time with this kind of development.
Sad, considering I am a Star Wars fan, and chose EVE to help an Indie out over a "Sony". Now I am playing EQinSpace:Galxies.

*cloaked bump*
the 'rent per batch' would also be a nice solution.
