I suggest a new class of drone with similarities to the existing repair drones, but with a quirk. I shall call them 'Fleet Repair Sentries'. These drones would be 10m3 each (small enough to fit in, for example, an exhumer) and would be deployed in a similar manner to sentries.
They would have a slow rate of fire, but be capable of transferring a sizeable chunk of shield or armour to any ship in the fleet over a distance of 15km - specifically any ship that their owner has on the watch list upon it dropping below 50% shields or armour.
This would then require the drone to wait 30 seconds to re-charge before it can transfer again.
OR: Just give logistics drones a 'Repair fleet if under attack' mode.
It's not going to compare with a 4 rep scimi but it could make things a bit more interesting. |

So basically you want to automate RR drones?

To an extent yes, I don't see why they have to be so dumb that they can't realise on their own it's a good idea to rep the ship next to them that's about to explode.
But I was thinking more along the lines of rather than them being 'little bit, often' reps, that they inject larger chunks, but at a much slower rate more akin to emergency tools. |

i would rather for remote rep drones be be able to rep me, they are not me. why cant i do it already... AFK cloaking doesn't earn anything, so it needs a buff! |

I think the problem with a 30 second burst of awesome repping action, combined with automation, would be that a ship would take damage and then be repped to full shields/armor by every single drone. Then 30 seconds would pass, and if it survived it would be repped to full again.
This would actually be worse than many shorter bursts, as all the drones would expend their repairs simultaneously, probably resulting in the target being repped unnecessarily large amounts in a single burst. Then it would be on it's own for the next 30 seconds.

Can we also have my Guardian autorep damaged fleetmates and my Proteus shoot at bad guys without being told? It's time to put an end to CCP's war on piracy. Fight your own battles and stop asking CCP to do it for you. |

Your combat drones can be set to do this automatically, and they can even be set to automatically guard a specific fleet member of your choice, by attacking anything that attacks them..
Your logistic drones, by comparison, are rather dumb. |

This thread is asking to set logi drones to assist an entire fleet automatically.
HUGE difference. It's time to put an end to CCP's war on piracy. Fight your own battles and stop asking CCP to do it for you. |

I agree, this is stupid.
If its rat damage you want to rep, just pop out combat drones and let them automatically kill the rats. |

Rat damage is easily tankable.
The idea is to allow a *fleet* of people to offer a certain amount of automatic burst tank to one or more pilots who fall under attack such as ganking, but to constrain the amount given by the existing mechanics of limiting the number of drones each person can carry.
This would encourage industrial groups etc to work together without requiring a dedicated logi ship to sit there with everyone locked up doing sod all for 95% of the time which, as far as I can tell, adds nothing to the enjoyment of the game.
Would also be interesting for the small gangs I am involved in. |
