Edited by: Total Disaster on 15/01/2009 12:59:35 oh yes... another one,
first of all, I don't want that local channel disappears since it is and will always be a way to communicate without having to find a common channel to chat.
BUT I don't really like it to be a "who's in system now" tool.
BUT players still need a tool to check if local is at least safe.
so here my proposal.
only show players in local chat if they have spoken up (like in alliance chat) implement this

red for bad standings+war (seperate on second image) grey for neutral blue for goody
this would show you the total of players in system but only by their standings.
To top that, there would be a "blink" effect on the right standing-color to see if local count changed.
of course these are only 2 possible designs.. but I'm open for everything

good idea, especially since thats what most of us use local for (just checking the colour tag on the players). |

I like it, but I don't think it should blink. It should be part of your job of flying to pay attention to it.

This would be quite nice if it had similar properties as the overview. Text color and background color to include blink on both. Better yet, do a different type of /command to allow you to see how many friendlies are in system instead of counting each block in local.
/who - will show you anyone that's negative whether it be -1.0, -7.0, or -10.0.
/who + would show you anyone that is positive to you in some way.
/who -10 will only show you who is in system that is -10 to you
/who -10 0 would show you anyone that is the entire range of neutral and - to you.
After the commands show a list of the people, it should also show a count of those included on that list.

We fly spaceships that move over 3au a second, we don't need food to live anymore, we don't need to manually fly our ships because of our capsule, but we can't make this button blink when it changes.
