As the title says, I'm trying to figure out where to take factional dogtags to exchange them for Loyalty Points. Is there some sorta central location I have to go, or is there a button in the LP store I've missed?

You can also take them to your faction's local datacenter and turn them in for faction standings via one time storyline missions that require certain quantities of tags.

like every other item in every MMO - stockpile them until they are needed or you need them converted into some other currency or item

i save them as collectors items. bet i have 5K of them. The pirate ones used to be in mission rewards a lot, but after lp store they were used much less. i hope they bring this back.

If you look at the LP store, you will see some of the items require dogtags to purchase, in addition to LP and ISK.
For instance:
Caldari Navy Widget - 25,000 LP - 25,000,000 ISK - 3 x Gurista Mime Dogtags, 5 x Gurista Lawyer Dogtag, 25 x Gurista Environmentalist Dogtag
That's it.

I've found some of the 0.0 faction spawns tag that drop there are worth quite a bit,as they are used for LP stores.
