Edited by: Kilann Jurik on 16/01/2009 16:09:07 I've read what the descriptions says for each of the weapons, but what are they exaclty supposed to be shooting at people?
Any thoughts of CCP descriptions I've not found are welcome...

"Military Experts are describing a Titan Dooms Day Device as essencialy a massive smart bomb!!!"
Its an Area of effect weapon, its damage is similar to a smart bomb but on a massive scale, I think the area of effect is 250km radius. Have you ever done the level 4 Recon mission part 3of3. There is an instanced environment in that mission that sends several waves at your ship with increasing damage each time, until it builds up to one massive wave of damage that is 1000 dps EXP, 1000 dps EM, 1000 dps KIN, and 1000 dps THERM. I love this mission, mission scanners sometimes warp to it hoping for juicy salvage and once i had a frigate warp in on me and it instantly poped and reset the mission so i had to endure the damage waves again.

I put a jet can outside a station once with a crap load of bookmarks in it to my mission and labeled them "Massive cloud of Angels wrecks", and I had a red flashy myrmidon warp to me. he warped out quite fast lol. I wish I had had a warp scrambler to hold him there... But I was in my mission domi so it was best not to make my self a valid target.

I've seen someone get podded by that recon 3/3 mission , pre-trinity though, not sure if the damage waves still hit capsules. |

Titans are really enormous vindaloo kitchens. Every moment people are consuming and making curry. In fact they are making curry while eating curry. When a titan fires its DDD, every crew member has to aim their posterior at the 'exit chute' and 1000s of ships are instantly melted.

Considering I answered your question, people decided to discuss the example I gave you that you yourself can go expirience to see what a DDD is like.
I will add to my answer, you ask "what exactly are they shooting at people". They arent shooting at people exactly. they are emitting a single wave in all directions for described area of effect. its an explosion, another example other than the Smart bombs and the recon mission would be bombs, the expensive little probe looking things you can launch from a stealth bomber. You could I guess say a bomb is a micro DDD, although it can be targeted and destroyed before it goes off.
You could always find someone who is a titan piot with a DDD and meet him on SISI server and let him kill you with it then you will know first hand what is being fired at you. BTW if you do this let me know I want to come and die to.

I thought a doomsday was the owner going into massive emorage quit mode that annihilates everything. The only people to survive are the hardcore players that have emorage immunity. Someone told me all this in the rookie channel and I believe them because I believe anything that's written down, including this because I just wrote it, so it must be true.

Doomsday is just a big smartbomb. It's easily one of the laziest feature implementations in history. |
