Where are people getting these GTCs from? I'd like to get my hands on one so I can sell it for some ISK. Any advice is appreciated. |

Found them in the EvE store :P
Do they really ship them to you? I don't need the card. I just want whatever information that would allow me to sell it to someone. |

They will send it to you via mail with the official store, but there are other stores around that will send it to you directly via email.

Look to the left and click on "my account" then click on "ETC Resellers" to see the authorized resellers.
These and the Eve store are the only places you can buy knowing the codes will be good. You may see them for sale elsewhere and at lower prices, but you have no recourse if you end up buying telephone numbers for Chinese restaurants in Moscow.
CCP sells the cards to these resellers with the stipulation that they all sell them for the same price. If you see any for sale at a lower price that means they are selling them at a loss (can't stay in business long doing that) or they are bogus which is far more likely.
Most of the resellers accept paypal or credit cards and email the numbers to you in minutes.
CCP only offers 60 day GTC cards having dropped the 30 day and 90 day cards some time ago. There may still be some 30/90s floating around out there, but be very careful if you get offered them for sale. The risk is pretty high and I'm not willing to take it even though some may be legit.
Be sure you always clearly state whether you are buying or selling in your posts here. I see posts here that only the author knows if it a WTB (want to buy) or a WTS (want to sell).
Good luck

Edited by: Wacktopia on 17/01/2009 01:38:15 Can someone give some pointers on how to not get scammed when buying GTC for ISK? How does the process work in-game?
Thanks.

Edited by: GoGo Gurl on 17/01/2009 02:21:33 In game, search the market for 30 day PLEX (Pilot License Extension) and in this forum for 60 day GTC or a 60 day GTC from an authorized reseller. These are the only authorized methods which have any assurances other than a "I swear to God it's legit" promise from a stranger.
Expect to pay more (per game day) for a PLEX because the seller has to pay tax and broker charges in the game just as everyone does to sell trit or battleships.
Don't mess around with any other way - getting banned or losing the the ISK or game time gained with an unauthorized transaction is just not worth the risk. |
