I'm talking about PvE, but even in PvP, why Vindicator is so great? It still do less DPS then an equivalent Kronos and cost more.....can someone explain me please? Cause I really like how it looks, but I dont find the point in using it :) Maybe only cause Marauder are more skill intensive? |

actually the vindicator can out dps a kronos. kronos: 4 guns (100% damage bonus: 4x(1+1)) = 8 guns Vindicator: 7 guns (25% damage bonus: 7x(1+0.25)) = 8.75 guns
for tech 1 battleships, the vindicator has the highest dps (with blasters of course), plus with the extra midslot of the vindicator vs the kronos/megathron, it can provide a really nice tank. the advantages of the kronos lies in the extra 3 high slots for utility and the tech 2 resistances. for pvp (and the insanely rich) the vin also has a much higher sensor strength, giving more defenses against falcons.

Vindicator is also good due to the MWD bonus.

That 5th mid combined with much better sensor strength and the MWD bonus makes it a tad bit more attractive than the Kronos for PvP purposes, even if the Kronos has slightly better (14.28%) gun DPS. And let's not forget the Kronos also loses the equivalent of 2 heavy drones in drone DPS (75 instead of 125 bandwidth).
Personally, I'd never fly either of them in PvP, and I wouldn't say the Vindicator is radically better than the Kronos. I mean, why bother with either when you can get almost the same performance out of a plain old Megathron for a fraction of the price ?

Well put. These days, a Navy Megathron might be a viable alternative; better PG, cap and buffer tank, to say nothing of the extra low, might swing the balance - especially as the Navy Mega is so cheap these days.
I have never understood why anyone sells a Navy Mega for 270 million isk. Anyone who does that is making a loss, even if he considers the LP to be free. The BP costs 200 million from the LP store and the minerals to build it (even at perfect skills) cost about another 100 million. Loss of 30M isk or so.
I ask myself occasionally why I haven't bought one yet. In fact, the same appears to apply, possibly less strongly, to the CNR. I don't know about the Fleet Tempest or Navy Apoc.

other than the mwd bonus, it aint better than a hyperion tank wise, or a navy mega gank wise IMO -sig-

600k LP + Nexus Chip + Megathron = Navy Mega.
100m for the ship, chip is negligeble, leaves 170 million for 600k LP. It's an extremely poor exchange rate but apparently enough people consider it profit.

It isn't players who are setting the price that low - it's ISK farmers running endless missions so they can sell the ISK for RL money. They don't consider the LP a main source of profit - it's just a nice bonus, especially when missions are so easy and predictable I'm sure there are macros available to run them.

There are. Come out to Minmatar space and come along on a ninja salvaging mission, and I can point out a macroing missionrunner; I've run into many of them (about 5-6 of them on more than one occasion.)
These macros will not only run the mission, but they are usually fleeted with a salvage Apoc that is also macro'd.
