Just checked in at nvidia and saw that new drivers just have been released. Going to give them a try when I'm done with this mission.
Anyone who's tried them with Eve and experienced anything notably good or bad?

Edited by: Asharee Intrefer on 28/07/2004 05:31:58 Still no billboard graphics and the problem with the Minmatar station remains. Maybe it's time for CCP to put in a workaround for these problems? What I've heard is that nvidia disabled something in the drivers to cause this, so it may not be CCP's responsibility. But since the majority (90% a good guess?) of the players are using cards relying on either ForceWare or Catalyst, wouldn't it be good practice to adapt a bit to the two of them? Oh well, I'm not a game developer so what do I know?

Edited by: Nomaar on 28/07/2004 05:46:34 The fact that this problem still persists is monumental lameness.

Catalyst is the Driver for ATI cards, they don't have this problem.

Yes, I know. I was just stating that since most players use nvidia or ATI it could maybe be a good idea to try to fix any problems either of them might have.

Brand new eve install on a work machine, with a gf4 mx440 card.
White screen at startup. Trying to feel my way around now to get past the EULA. --

Won't work with the new Drivers on this card at all.
Went to windows update, got the Oct 2003 nvidia stock driver, and things are working perfectly.

Why isnt this fixed yet?
Come on CCP sort this one out please

Having to use last years driver sucks the big one. --- Deciding who to murder is easy, it's just a process of elimination. |

Ewwww Dafuzz u used Winupdate to get Nvidia Drivers, the better drivers for EVE with Nvidia Cards:
53.03 for XP/2K (support upto 5950) 53.04 for 9x/Me (support upto 5950) 61.77 for 9x-XP (supports upto 6800 but has issues with Minmatar stations and billboards)
Older drivers are available on nvidia site under Achieved Drivers.

I had an interesting experience with this driver set last night.
They had been out a month already so I supposed that whatever issues they might have would have been resolved.
Silly me.
After installing these most recent drivers, I was completely unable to get into the game at all. The login screen appeared... part of it anyway. I saw the 3D background with the rotating EVE logo, but the frame of the window, the part that has boxes for login info and server select, wasn't there.
I tried updating DirectX, but that didn't fix it.
I'm going to have to roll back the drivers tonight to a much older version to see if that will actually work...

I'm using a geforce4 MX440 with directX9.0c,when i updated to nvidia 61.76for win ME, my transparant windows showed up as white for me, effectively ruling you out to login. I'm rolling back to 56.64 to see if it doesn't have the same issues
Those who aim at nothing, will most certainly hit that!
