Getting ready to train for these on an alt.
I've heard they both have great tanks. And honestly, the Wyvern looks a bit better than the Aeon.
Thoughts on the tank of both? |

Go for a Chimera, they can tank 3,5k dps same as a NYX.
But other then that:
A Wyvern is sexy and can tank more then the Aeon, but for some reason you always end upp having more remote armor reparing then more shield repairing.
Wyvern tank is also a bit cheaper and easier to have a perma tank on then a Hell.

Yeah, I really wanted a Hel, but the tank seems very broken.
My previous Mothership was a Nyx (sold it)
Looks wise Hel>Wyvern>Aeon
But tank wise it seems Wyvern>Aeon>Hel (not including the Nyx because its not an option)

The Hel is a barn roof....
Wyvern is ftw aeon looks terrible nyx looks the best....
Aeon is a terrible looking good tanking nyx, Wyvern is a terrible looking ultra tanking machine of win, The hel is matar...nuff said...

Flying a Wyvern with my main and never have regrets to buy it or to choose this one!
Tank is awesome and i think its the best looking ms ig!
As already said: People use to have more RemoteReps in gangs as remote Shieldboost so the Aeon may be a better idea but tbh: Choose whatever you think looks better cause you have to look at it "every day" till its toast

Wyvern's got a great tank. Personally I'd go Nyx for the damage bonus it gets and because it armor tanks. After that I'd pick aeon because it gets an amazing bonus to armor tanking.
In carrier blobs most people armor tank aswell, so armor tanking your supercap might help you live longer! |

You just got an angry sokratez on your ass ;)
He will tell you that there are as many capital shield remote reps as there are armro one, and thats how it should be, but rarely is ;)
I think id prefer the Aeon cause it would hurt my tank less fitting a scram and sensor booster, and id never leave without one on either ship. |

If you can afford either, get the aeon. Deadspace armor mods are no where near as expensive as officer/deadspace shield mods, plus its harder to get a good set up with cap stability in a wyvern. If cost isn't an issue go with whatever you think looks the coolest :p |

consider this, and the best way to link my setup is the one that i lost a few days ago, but before you go 'LOL DUAL SHIELD BOOSTER WTF?' just eft it and run the numbers.

P.S. same tank on an aeon needs 3 capital reps, but needs 50b in fittings to make its cap work well enough to put up with them.

Two shield boosters sound nice but a single booster with much better resists will tank about 60% as well whilst giving a much higher buffer and more fitting freedom (rr!). |

the tower had been bashed and we were looting the field, i saw the hic on scanner but i lost my chat windows, as in they ALL disappeared, so i couldnt jump to the waiting cyno (which was already up)
thats a general setup, its a fun thing i did with some spare isk, i've got a new one now, just need to get the fittings out of jita, and onto ship.
but the question was aeon or wyvern, which means dps will be the same, so you're looking for the strength of its capacitor, (wyvern wins) its tank (wyvern wins without spending isk on titan style modules) and its remote repping capability, which depends entirely on what you're using it for, or more specifically, who you're trying to rep.
EDIT: and why no remote reps? because besides a few small ships, the rest of the gang were dreads, which were in siege, and i couldnt rep them anyway.
