Seen it today.
On Timecard Bazarr a post for "700 million for 60 Day GTC" and than someone replies with "one for me" when there are 3 other simultaneous posts for 625-650 million for 60 Day GTC.
Someone explain to me why it would be logical to pay the extra 50 million ISK?
Hmmmm.......

------ I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it. |

Because that is about what they actually go for in the game. The People that sell the 60 day GTC for less that 675 mil are ripping themselves off.

How did I miss the point? How do you know that those other threads even still had GTC to sell? 675-700 is standard price for 60 days now. Some people just see the first thing they want and buy it. |

The whole ISK for GTC thing was/is unsustainable because so many people want extra accounts for free and many people just want to play for free, in many other online gaming communities the whole pay for your sub with in game cash attracted a lot of people who otherwise couldn't afford to play a paid MMO and eventually there will be a breaking point. |

Assuming you're correct, which you may well be...
... so what?
It's not breaking any rules. if you think all prices above x ISk are faked, then bid at that level. |

Please check out my thread in M&D re: why high GTC prices are a very good thing for the game. And why I not only see 30 days at 500M before march 10th but I'm also doing my part to make it happen.
In a nutshell: the casual sellers are gone. Traders can now easily control the supply. Demand remains high. The higher the GTC price the smaller the supply.
1 billion for a 30 day this year is entirely possible unless CCP make a minor change to the way PLEXes are generated. I don't see why they would though.

Thats why I decided to opt out of the GTC market. If the prices were similar to before I'd be running more accounts. CCP scared away a customer, and thats their decusion. I no longer get the GTCs because I dont want to support the people who run the market for GTCs.

ITT: People who don't understand supply and demand.
If something is in high enough demand, prices won't magically stay low.
But but, bread is in demand and it's cheap, why aren't GTC's the same?
Because there's a crapton of bread out there. If bread were like gold, we'd all be eating rice and placing pieces of bread on our fingers for show.

I have a hypothesis:
Prices for GTCs will stabilize at a point where the amount of time the average seller spends earning RL cash for the GTC equals the amount of time the average buyer spends earning the ISK.
So, assuming 350M ISK = $15, you're looking at buyers who have lots of passive ISK income, and sellers who make around $20/hour.

If GTCs get high enough I'm going to buy a bunch of them then purchase a death star and stock it with 500,000,000,000 ravens. The rest of my days playing EVE will be just setting up warp in points on people, landing a bunch of torp ravens on them and then retreating back to the PoS until my cov ops finds another person to jump onto. Then I will do the same thing with worm holes.
