Was playing on Saturday the 17. System locked up, requiring computer re-boot. Now the initial splash screen pops up and then minimizes - the game never starts. No problems previously. Everything else running properly on my computer. Any ideas? I already tried downloading and re-installing the client to no avail.

Funny thing, because something very similar to me happened recently. I left out the crash part because Eve was not running at the time of the crash, but my PC did randomly lockup, display went out and audio stuttered. After restarting I tried to start up Eve but only got a splash screen, and the exefile process for Eve was running. But no 'game'. I try to start some other games, that I did install on my secondary hdd, and they didn't work either. I check my computer and tada it isn't there. I power cycled my second hdd and it was found. I tried to start Eve again and it did?! I'm in awe because I know for an absolute fact I installed Eve on my primary C: drive. I double checked the directory and there it is.. C:\ etc etc etc.

Ditto, I patched recently, a 4mb patch. And today my client works no more. Almost like the lag has escaped the servers and eaten my client. I'm on windows ultimate operating system on an XPS M1730.
Dunno what is up.

same thing here... eve crashes - need to reboot....
start eve client - welcome picture - and than minimizes....
any ideas yet? |

Just to add to the cacophony, this happened to me just now. Splash screen then minimizes, won't open. HAAALP

I have a similar issue, but not exactly like you explained. So im going to drop it here because it might be related and need some help.
I have had no problems with eve online when after install for awhile. nothing happend no crash , no reboot, nothing. When I try to start the program it goes to the boot screen then never loads, but is on my windows bar. I try clicking on it to maximize but it does not come up, even though it is selected. I am going to run a reinstall, to see if it clears the problem up. Can anyone tell me what could cause it to do this? Is there a vista issue with EvE, and if so what is the issue. Do i need to delete or change any reg keys ?Will report back on what happend.

i just ahd the exact same thing happen to me. i clone jumped with the map open, at which point i was unable to close the map, my character panel displayed no info and wouldnt let me change from the clone panel. i was able to open the market screen and searched an item and found that i ahd made the clone jump, i jsut couldnt do anything. i closed the client and when i tried to restart i couldnt get past initial splash screen, the game just minimized. rebooted, no change, reinstalled no change. i ahve no clue whats causing this but its quite a pain. please help lol. |

i saeem to have got this fixed now. Completely uninstall, including settings. download newest client in full. reinstall. should work, cant install an older version and try to update just gives the same prob. hope it works for people.
