Background
the industrial corp my main resides in is growing larger; however, management's claim of "highest profit evar!" whereas in fact we're actually losing isk has me pulling hair.
in order to show the numerical-challenged "corner office resident" that our corp is actually incurring a net loss, I have volunteered to inventory & record all transactions for one month.
so... what are you trying to ask?
has anyone taken on similar endeavor before? If so, could you please tell me what accounts (ie: 1005 for isk on hand, 1205 for inventory, and so on) did you use? did you use any accounting software?
I'm using Simply Accounting to do this job, but difference in eve's economy has me wondering whether to apply real life accounting concepts or not.
thank you for reading my rant/post! |

I don't understand what you are looking to do, and it is shameful I'm an accounting/finance major.
If you are just looking to record the assets for the month, with recording of book value wouldn't it be easy to just do cash accounting?
And why do I know those numbers, I can't remember, something to do with quickbooks?

Ah, the "stuff we get from mining it ourselves is worth nothing therefore all sales from things we make mean pure profit" kind of guys ?

Yes. It ended with me leaving the corporation on account of irreconciliable viewpoint differences.

Personally, to solve this when I take minerals from inventory for production (based on the sell order price, not liquidation buy order), I list the mineral value as an expense. This is the only way to see if you're actually making money producing. |

Im confused as to what is complicated here.
Just add up all your isk and put an isk value on all your assests then add them.
Do the same thing next month. |
