Hey guys, hows about some missile defense other than awkward to use smartbombs for us slow, lumbering Amarr? Hows about a turret weapon that tries to intercept missiles like the defender missiles do? I'd even live with ammo intensive projectile guns in the form of a gattling gun? Im getting tired of dying to kinetic missile barrages in my ships. Please? You know you want to...

2 medium smartbombs running about 4.5-5 seconds apart will give you a almost consistant missile screen, test it it does work

well lets see. 2 medium smartbombs running like that can completely **** up all attacks from any missile user, even a raven firing 6 CMs at you at a time. so why the hell *should* you get to have much offensive capabilities?
christ all these amarr whining about theyre ships really gets annoying. the guy asked how to stop missiles (well not really, but effectively) and someone told him. you dont have to do what was suggested. after all, theres no way for us to shoot down lasers.

quite agreed i tested this last night in my maller with my buddy in a scorp firing consistant volleys of 3 or 4 torps at me. If he was lucky one of the torps would get through. Mind you you o sacrifice some offense but if they can't kill you who the heck cares.
Most fights will come down to who can survive the longest not neccesarily who does the most damage.
Also if you don't like this setup try something else twas just a suggestion not a demand :) toodles and have fun.
P.S. using a friend in a frigate to attempt to ram the torps could be fun lol

Well, the problem with using smartbomb is the containers in astroid belts. It is very hard to avoid those containers in middle of combat. CCP really need to deal with this issue. I fly rupture, rifter, punisher, maller, armageddon and apoc. I always have to just eat the damage with Punisher, maller and armageddon becuase of the containers. Last thing I want is killed a missile but also got killed by concord. Amarr need some kind anti missile laser turret or change the container attack rules.

okay amarr ships are already UBER first of all if you aren't armor tanking then well yeah *couch* ahem anyhoo. I agree that the can/sb thing sucks and i've even lost a few ships to it myself. However amarr ships are VERY powerfull as it stands if you use them as they were intended to be. Amarr ships make superb armor tanks. I can sit in my armageddon while taking a full load of torps from a scorp and tank ALL of the damage without using my smartbombs. Granted using them is better but sometimes you can't (secure can blah) anyhoo don't ***** about what you can't do rather work on what you can.

If you don't like CONCORD killing you for killing cans then just go to a -0.5 sector, then they won't blow you up for damaging them (I think :/) -----------

The smartbomb+container=concord/-sec. rating problem need to be fixed. It made a perfectly viable weapon choice to a near useless status. Even in 0.4-0.1, if you hit a container, you lose sec. ratting. That is just wrong and I don't see why this problem shouldn't be fixed. Nobody in their right mind would use smartbomb to kill containers anyway.
