i had my first real experience with FW fleet fights today, i knew the lag would be bad but this was insane, before i knew it i woke up in a goo bath,
tama really needs its own dedicated blade |

The key is to set up a camp on gate before frenchie has a chance to do so and have their quabillion drones out lagging up the grid.
On a side note, isn't it funny that the Gallente are of french origin, and have others do all of their fighting for them(Drones). I guess even in the distant future the french still can't go it alone. |

even though i find it funny as sin.... there are french people that are worthy pilots out there but gallante as a race Megathron seems to own Fleet warfare
but fleet warfare as a hole if u find it laggy as balls then u should have tried it last year. 400 people in grid today is 500% better than it was last year |

Well its just as bad with the amarr/minnie war areas. In fact LAG is starting to affect fleet desicions as to when to engage etc and the bigger fights are turning into a boring game of waiting on the opposite sides of gates for each other to jump in first. And when i say fleet .. i mean only 30-40 which is the biggest it gets in the amarr militia. Several fights have been utterly ruined by mistress LAG, and for the relatively few numbers involved, its just not good enough
CCP seriously ned to take a look at the Facwar areas and assign some more resources their way, as its starting to annoy everyone on both sides. |

I was on the gallente side of Rubico's fleet fight. Total number of ships on grid was about 40. Yes the lag was insane. I might have thought my client froze except I could still change my view orientation. Having 'low lag' client settings was no protection against this server side slow down.

I was in another fleet fight in Tama yesterday. It was 30 vs 20 or somesuch (about total of 60 in local), but the lag was truly monstrous. I was unable to lock anything except the first target, I saw my ship explode multiple times and one pod loading after another while I kept mwding at 3 km/s around the enemy Rokh and warping to a planet at the same time, and new "entering ship..." messages kept coming as I warped. The overview went totally insane. When someone on the other side (5 of them, actually) finally decided to lock and shoot my frigate, I was unable neither to disengage and mwd away, nor warp away, nor even tell if my modules are still working and if i'm pointed or not.
The damage notices kept coming for a minute or so after the insurance mail for the ship.
Wow. Just wow.

Mega's are ok, but I can tank my Raven to them and Torps really eat through them unless they are the best trained Mega pilot, which there aren't many in FW it seems, atleast the ones I've faced. And with my MWD burning it's silly easy to make them switch to a weaker ammo than AM to even hit me with their guns.
