Is there a site that has templates for players to follow when making new characters? I'm looking to start a new character and want to figure out the fastest way to get him into a manticore. Thanks. |

1. Figure out what exact skills you need 2. Go to Linkage and get EVE-HQ, install, start it 3. Enter the list of skills from point 1 into the character creator module 4. Hit the "give me the damned results" button 5. Sort by "optimal queue time" 6. ??? 7. PROFIT !
Usually step 6 (if you added a nice long list of skills you want, including but not limited to a lot of L5s into ships, weapons and various support skills) is "realize no matter what you pick the percentage difference in training time is not that big".

Edited by: Wrok Harde on 22/01/2009 16:08:17 Ok well let me ask you guys this then. I have a mining char with pretty good learning skills. She can fly an Orca/Hulk. Should I just do a 360 with her and train her in the direction I'm looking for or am I better off starting a new char? |

The answer to that question not only depends on learning skills, but also on base attributes. If those are reasonable wel balanced ( well charisma excluded) I think it would be fastest to just do a 360 on your alt. Especially since the manticore also needs some int/mem skills before you can fly it decently.

Most likely it would be years before a new character would surpass the old one (assuming you have SOME half-decent support skills, learnings to at least level 4 and not minuscule base per/wil). So yeah, just train what you need on the existing char, doesn't matter what it used to be specced for.

Whats the difference between EVEmon and EVE-HQ? I've never used the latter but everyone seems to be these days. |

Edited by: Vikura on 22/01/2009 21:15:22 With EveHQ you can see which race/bloodline/career line is fastest to finish the given skill plan. Evemon is just to see fastest learning order for the given character and it will suggest if any learning skills will speed up the progress.
edit: yay! finally got avatar!
