B) What, besides Winterblinks fame from his excellent WDA, makes this any different from, say, HellGremlin's "Hamish Saga"?

HellGremlin is the man. The PotW that he did were an inspiration for me to play EVE and get into it as deeply as I did. I only hope I can do this a fraction as well as he did his material.

Just fyi for some of you having problems accessing the site. Most people can get to it fine, but some cannot for some reason. Might be a DNS issue, not sure. Just so you know, the site IS there.

Just a quick note to everyone, when this thread goes off sticky and is moved to the EVE Library forum, that is where I will be posting updates when new chapters are put online. I can't think of a better place to keep everyone up to speed with ENV. :)
Like when WDA was released, I've been utterly blown away by the response to this by everyone that's checked this out. It may not have a daily update schedule, but I hope I can do this well enough to have people bookmarking it and checking it every now and then.

Since I couldn't resolve the IP, I couldn't ping either... I can now though since the DNS problem seems to be gone

I hate, hate, HATE to nitpick at a story, but if this is set during the Gallente-Caldari War...
... the Serpentis could not have existed.
Salvador Sarpati started up the Serpentis syndicate. He's been with the company 30-odd years, and he himself is like 40summat. The war's been over for at least 100 years. Work hadn't even begun on the neural boosters that give the Serps their profits and seemingly limitless ship supply.
It's a good story, but I'm afraid that's a hole big enough to drive a Moros though.

Salvador Sarpati started up the Serpentis syndicate. He's been with the company 30-odd years, and he himself is like 40summat. The war's been over for at least 100 years. Work hadn't even begun on the neural boosters that give the Serps their profits and seemingly limitless ship supply.
It's a good story, but I'm afraid that's a hole big enough to drive a Moros though.

Well, if you're using the conventional rank structure (the one I'm familiar with, and use in my corporation), he skipped lieutenant commander and commander...that's an unusually large jump. I smell corruption ;)

Part 8, "Leverage" is now online (finally). I actually split this part in two as it was a lot longer than normal.
Also, ENV's interface has been overhauled to allow for easier navigation, just use the selection list at the top to navigate through the parts.
