Epic fail
Still, that's what happens when you use google ads (or whatever makes the rotating ads on their forum). |

Blizzard has gone to hell ever since Vivendi forced that merger with Activision. Just like Square and Enix, but that was a mutual merger between the two. --- My cat Putter approves of this post. |

I wish a series of coincidental freak accidents would result in the utter destruction of vivendi. Been messing up the industry for years.

Just because google is used as the advertiser does not absolve the website owner of responsibility, the owner gets the bung for the adverts and the isk sellers use it as a back door route to the players. Some still are of course at it, like this site on the Eve community link from Eve's own site.

What incidents do you mean? What titles have they released? I know the name, probably have a couple of theirs but can't think of any for the life of me. |

It's a constant battle to remove them from the ads. Put it's something that I try to do on a regular basis! |

They own all sorts of video game/television/music companies, some big ones. Universal studios, they own it. They own blizzard and sierra too, sierra owns many other game companies.
Ever wonder why blizzard puts out 'quality games' and sierra puts out 'budget games'? All part of vivendis strategy.
A game is a game to them, a singular unit of 'something'. They don't care if its any good, they don't care to give the good ideas a chance and to kill off the stupid ideas, they just get rid of some of the small companies if stuff goes bad to cover their losses.
They are more or less EA only not as video game focused, which means they have even a lesser chance of coming around and doing anything but harm (EA is actually not all that bad, not compared to how it used to be anyway)
I just dont like them because they are responsible for closing down dynamix. Dynamix would have made all sorts of wonderful stuff. They made great games, you remember the incredible machine? They made that. They also made the hugely popular tribes, no FPS to date has really been as innovative as tribes was. They were one of the two main mech game creators, and once they disappeared, with out competition to push the genre forward, it died.
Im sure we would be living in a glorious future with gigantic flying space robots online mega ultimate game experience, in some sort of mind-projected 3d reality tactile feedback halucination if they were still around.
But no, stupid vivendi >< curse them! |

Vivendi does not own Universal Studios. GE owns Universal Studios, hence the new name NBC-Universal.
Vivendi at one time owned Universal, and I believe still owns a stake in it. And still has a large interest in Universal Music Group and Vivendi Universal Games.
As well as majority or minority interests in Activision / Blizzard, and Canal+, among others, Vivendi "spun off" the worlds largest water company, Vivendi Environment, now known as Veolia.
Like Bechtel and Suez, Veolia is in the business of privatizing water infrastructure, and it and its subsidiaries operate water and sewage works on every continent except Antartica (maybe).
So the moral of the story is don't **** of Blizzard or they'll shut off your water. |

I'm sorry CrazyKinux but that does not wash for me. When I first highlighted this nearly 2 years ago I think, several other sites managed to remove their google ads and use another advertiser. There were several who said that they could not survive doing this, but they they are still alive and kicking. So I say to you, you are not trying hard enough, and you are letting every honest Eve player down, and furthermore I'm disgusted that the PTB in Eve allow you to continue to get away with it. So come on CK do the decent thing and remove the googles and find another banner sponsor :) You know you can do it if you try

You realise about 100 new links for isk sellers get flooded into GoogleAds etc every day and outruling them all is a losing battle? What you gonna say about the ones that pop up on Eve-Search and Eve-files?

Well done CK that's a positive response :) If you need some help I know some of the other site owners in the community forums will help you if you mail them, or at least they used to. |

I know that will not have come easy, but I think you did get the principle of what I was posting about so, on behalf of us honest Eve players, I thank you for making the effort. Respect :)
