My apologies; I was not familiar with your history, and, having had the luxury to be born free myself, was not aware that some of the slaves do not hear even that little about the world.
(The ones I have been talking with in Hope and en route there have been better informed; but if your case is very common I see we have to provide an education program. For this purpose, it would be best if parties like the PRM, Oracle, Thukker in GW, and any others who want to bring themselves to the attention of former slaves, would provide the information about themselves, to avoid accusations of bias from our side.)
There is lot of information about the Republic available via your Neocom, and other sources. I rest assured that after you have had the chance to familiarize yourself with it, you will be able to make an informed choice in the matter.

Kiongozi is also blind, I dont know if that has a negative effect on his ability to pilot or not, but as Ive never heard of him flying a ship himself its a moot point.

I worked alot for the different tribes forming the republic. I wanted to learn the different customs and traditions of those tribes and get some contacts among 'em, and i saw what i wanted to see.
I'm will never take an oath to the republic trying to bind the tribes to common laws.
I'm proud my tribe is still free. And i'm glad that it will never be part of that republic !

We who are citizens of the Republic are no more or no less free than you are. Like you, we are bound by the laws of our tribes and those laws our tribes seem fit to agree as the common laws between tribes. Like you by your tribe, we are guaranteed by the Republic certain basic freedoms.
On the other hand, the Amarr Empire is an independent nation, like your tribe wants to be. Yet, its citizens and especially the slaves under its jurisdiction are not free in the sense you mean.
It is not about whether you have a government above you, or not. We all do. It is weather that government - be it tribal authorities, or a representative Parliament, or an Emperor - is worthy of your loyalty.

The probe class frigate that the People's Front granted me for transport is not piloted by me. Discorporation is quite right when he says I am unable to pilot a vessel - I do not know how. I do not have the correct implants to make use of one of those control pods.
Brother Darax, however, insisted that a pod be fitted to accomodate and protect me, and that it be programmed to make for the nearest station in an emergency. The pilot of my vessel fully understands the risk he takes in piloting the vessel manually, without an escape capsule. He has my undying gratitude.
