I thought that the commentators were selected for their know-how, CCP did the whole "apply now" thing .. didn't they screen the applicants?

It's obvious. They couldn't get the real experts out of their parents basment...either on Mtn Dew, or they couldn't fit through the door, you know something like that, to fly to Iceland. So they had to settle for these guys. |

Now, the thing to remember is: Do you feel entertained?
Noone talking I don't. Music doesn't cut it. Even if sometimes in the heat of the moment commentators get things wrong, they still give me an idea what's going on.
Just looking at setups and then waiting for the result would be even more dissatisfying than not having videos.
You guys go ahead, get it wrong sometimes, that's fine, it'll provide a giggle and to be honest, most of the time I'd have likely gotten it worse.
Just saying.
I'll still check the saturday vids while the sunday games are on. |

dude.. I had two.. not sure where I left them though (oh yeah, well there is nearly 2B I won't see again)....
Got to admit I listened to our fight not long after (thanks eve-news btw). And I did admit.. I had to check EFT and then in game to see if I missed a nightmare bonus to shields, for a minute I thought I really had FAILED, then released nope no shield bonus, then looked at my wallet.. and I had failed anyways
Well we got everyone excited.. including the team. Just a shame it looks like the Gallente won't make it to the TV. And we had an excellent (and even more expensive) third setup  |

After my frig popped during our match I turned eve voice on and it was interesting to listen to the commentary and TS at the same time, Over all I think the commentators to a fantastic job they just miss out on some of the more tactical based things. Which is understandable given they can only call what they see on the screen and some of the fights can be pretty frantic, with stuff blowing up all over the shop.
They were right about us going for that curse, I was ecstatic when I managed to get a web on him, only to go down to a hail of enemy drones about 5 seconds after he popped. The plan for dealing with drones was to get close to the bs's and have the drones smart bombed off us (which worked later in the fight), but due to being completely out of cap thanks to that damn curse my speed tanked Daredevil was a 160 mil isk sitting duck 
We were running heavy sensor damp drones along with sensor damps and tracking disruptors on most of our support ships (well I got 1 or 2 tracking disruptor cycles off on their abaddons before the curse capped me out, better then nothing), the commentators kept saying the ships were bunched up really tight, at the start this was the case as we both warped in at 0 but as the match progressed our abaddon which was under heavy fire started burning away to distance, which combined with the dampening we had helped him to survive in low armor. |

One of the true joys of working with great players is knowing that when you tell them, for example, to orbit at 13km, they'll orbit at 11.5km because they know their inertia will push them out beyond overheated web range, and that's why you really said 13km. There's a definite synergy to be had when you put together a great FC and great pilots; that's when you see the Interceptor pilots breaking out their Snake sets for a fleet fight, for example.

Tuned in from around 6pm GMT and have very much enjoyed the show seen some excellent match up's with not a lot to choose between the teams. Good job all those involved from Anchor to match analysts.
Oh and paging Crovan to the thread.
