... Is there any chance of getting a client with no models in it what so ever?
Pretty much all I see when I play right now are brackets, the overview and other UI elements.
I really hate the idea of needing to upgrade to a Premimium-Lite client for graphics that I never see. If I need to upgrade my hardware I'll be a bit ticked of.

I'd like to see a stripped down client as well. Your just scroll out to max distance in a fleet fight anyways.

$70 + Box price for the EVE client when Atari relaunches it = Easily over $100 for a game. Average joe casual consumer: "nice, space ships! Oh, but it will cost me over $100 dollars to play this game... and this assumes that I'm someone who understands about computer upgrades and don't think I need to buy an entirely new computer... Oh hey, look at this, Night Elves, Blood Elves, some Sauron looking guy covered in ice, and my computer can run this just fine, lets head to the register!"

Yeah it would be pretty cool to use icons instead of ships ( kinda like NATO symbols). (btw i have a decent computer able to run premium) |

Edited by: Gershomea Raphael on 25/01/2009 11:05:43 Just go back to playing Counterstrike. It still works on a Pentium II with a Geforce MX.

I dont want to upgrade because premium is ****.
You have to zoom out fully to scan properly... doesn't that completely defeat the purpose of having fancy graphics...? |

…which, incidentally, will probably cost the same. You still have to pay that first-time registration fee. |

I still think there should be an Elite-mode client.

What's with the flames? My computer runs eve in fleets without much trouble, but i'd still appreciate a client without (heavy) graphics. Im zoomed far out and only see brackets and overview anyway.

I personally hope that everyone's graphics card pops during February and they will have to replace it anyway.
(ofc, only for those who dont have one already that will support Premium Lite) |
