Just out of curiosity, How many of you do remember BYOM deals in EVE in the past? And now when gun mining is being nerfed what do you think is the chance/risk of them comming back? |

I remember them, and I miss them greatly. I don't expect them to ever come back as it's the BPO costs that made them viable, and thanks tothe running inflation BPO costs are negligble for pretty much everyone on pretty much anything. |

Thats true, it is so long ago so I had forgotten the pain it was to actually get all the BPOs.
I remember the ship I bought and the first time I lost a Moa mining in 0.0. I ragequit back then. Took a while before I started over again on this char :-) |

As with Shar, some of us still offer them but they tend to be invite only things. Although I've scaled mine right down and the other person I know that did them is pretty much off of Eve atm. Bring your own minerals.
Used to be a large subset of manufacturing, industry guy provided bpo, skills and slots, roid-miner gun-miner hauled-rat-miner or otherwise provided minerals and paid a fee to have them converted into whatever. Fee wasn't necessarily based on mineral price but more on the investment made buying the bpo.
as others have said tho, this is long gone. Was a big thing when isk was less plentiful, and particularly expensive bpos were rare. Now there's more than enough bpos for everyone |
