Hi all, my first post here. OK so I started playing EVE trial (and im loving it so far). I downloaded the trial and created the account directly on EVE site (not through Steam). And when I wanted to buy the game, I realized that I have some Moneybookers money and wanted to use that, so I decided to buy through Steam (costs more but I was fine with that, it was convenient for me to spend the Moneybookers funds, Steam accepts Moneybookers).
My question is how do I use that Steam purchase to upgrade my current trial account to a full account?
Hope this makes sense, thanks! |

Hope this makes sense, thanks! Steam's store page says "Product keys will not work with existing EVE Online accounts.". You can buy an account through steam and you'll get a CD key to use to activate that new account but it won't be useable to upgrade an existingaccount. If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see? |

What sin said ... however, with that in mind, you can roll a new toon and go from there. Sure, you'll "lose" those 9d of training, but they were free anyway, so \o/. |

Thanks for you help but fortunately for me, your answer isn't correct :) To anyone else with the same problem as mine, it works, all I had to do was copy the CD key from Steam, log on to my account, select Activate code, paste the CD key there and my account is upgraded to full. Thanks anyway, see you in space :) |

Guess the steam restriction is worded stupidly to mean "you can't buy eve from steam to extend an already paid/full acct". Keep in mind however, that if you ever give a friend a buddy invite, THEY MUST NOT USE STEAM TO ACTIVATE THE ACCT (you won't get your prize).

This. You can activate an account with Steam, but you can't extend it. And the reason there's no rewards to people when you activate with Steam is that Steam does $5 sales now and then (some friends and I abused this before the change by rolling a couple alts whenever it went on sale and getting cheap PLEX through that) |

Steam's wording is clunky indeed then, but it's good to know these subtle flavours. If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see? |

Yeah, for a second there I was worried that I wouldn't be able to use this account. The problem wouldn't be me rolling a new character, but the fact that I would have to use a new email for the new account, which is inconvenient. |

Update: You can have as many accounts subscribed to 1 email as you want too, it's not like other games where 1 email adress only can be used for 1 account.
I have 4 account currently subscribed and all are using the same mail-adress. Inject your skillbook before you leave the station.
