I am about to purchase a Badger Mark II. I am very new to the game but this one seems within my reach. My objective is to become good at mining and industrial skills. Is this a good ship to start with? Please advise. Just me, Bad |

Yes it is, but you probably want to use in conjunction with another mining ship, like a frigate.
The Badger is a great hauler, but with only 1 slot to mount a mining beam, it takes a LONG time to fill up. If you work with someone, you can fill it much faster. This can be another player, or an alt on a second account.

1 option is, once you have your indi, buy a large secure container, and take it out to a roid field. Learn the anchoring skill first (so your can dont float away) mine in to that can until its full then use your indi to take the ore back to the station. The secure can will have a password, so only people who know it will beable to get to the contence, it will stay in the same place for months as well... this gives you the chance to mine in somthing safer than a space slug (indi) lol

Any limitations on the anchoring skill? And is there a need to train it past Level 1?

The mobile warp disruptors need a higher Anchoring skill to use, but you shouldn't need to use them for a while. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

Thanks to everyone who responded. As it happens, I already own a large container having mistakenly bought one when trying to upsize my cargo hold. I will continue to mine with my noobie ship and use the Badger to hual with. Thanks again! Just me, Bad |

ah did you buy a "large container" or a "large secure container" 2 very different things there my advice is skip the large size and get a "Giant secure container" as that holds 3.7k m3 which will easy fit in your hauler as the can on the outside is only 3k m3 .
EVE GUARDIAN - I am a Pirate Alliance - pleased to meet you. "The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse *****(prostitute). We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and riffle their pockets for new vocabulary." |

Remember you can't Anchor in high security space, must be .8 or less I think. -- Tranquil Suul
