Not sure if this has been brought up but if a match with 2 teams on 125 points and the teams get together they can guarantee both teams into the next round, lets say both teams field 9 cruisers and 1 frig, when the match starts all the cruisers mwd out of the arena and get killed, all thats left is the 2 frigs, 1 on each side.
the 2 frigs go at it, 1 dies. winning teams gets 125 points and takes them to 250 points and they are through to the next round, losing teams gets 98 points, takes them to 223 points and thus in the next round aswell.
I am not saying any teams are goin to do this or that i condone it, just wanted to bring this up.

There is always ways of cheating the system, but its not in the spirit of the Allaince Champs, and thus doing it is pretty low.

You could look at this another way in that the teams "champion" was placed to face the other teams "champion", like Hector versus Achilles!
Just as long as you flying against a guy called Hector you are laughing...
But I agree with Tnam, its not in the spirit of the tournament and big bad CCP would probably throw a hissy fit and kill your dog or something, or worse put you into the Minmatar Militia team.

The fun thing about the EvE alliance tourney is TQ :) be annoying in tourney and you might find that certain groups take a vacation and might want to take that vacation in said annoying alliance home systems :)
On the other hand, welcome to eve :)

"Okay guy, match is go lets mwd out of the arena with our cruisers and we're both through okay?"
(team 2 captain)
"Right right, mwd'ing now see you in the final 32 dude!"
(2 mins pass)
(team 1 captain)
"We're at the edge now beginning to suicide our cruisers!)
(team 2 captain)
"Sure sure we're almost there too yep, blowing up our guys now"
(team 1 captain - having lost half his cruisers)
"ummmm, not seeing any explosions from your side is everything going to plan?"
(team 2 captain)
"Yep yep sure, was just a bit further than we thought, self exploding now!)
(2 minutes pass and team 1 captain sits in his pod watching a complete team 2 steaming back to the centre of the arena and maximum points)
"What happened? We made an agreement? Whats going on man?"
(team 2 captain)
"Well we thought about it and just couldn't decide if we could trust you so we decided to stab you up first and go through anyways."
(team 1 captain)
"OMG! We're out you bugger AND we're the laughing stock of Eve and everyone is saying rude things about our fail alliance on Eve radio!"
(team 2 captain)
"Sucks to be you."

It is in no alliances interest to throw their second round match. After the second round the best scoring teams are fielded against the worst scoring. If you want an easy opponent in round three then it is in your interest to try and pick up 125 points in round two.
