It's not a slump. 700m for 60d is a pretty nice price. What you're seeing here is probably normalization of the price in-game for PLEXes after the market has perhaps finally been stocked. Remember, PLEX hasn't been around for very long so there was a difference between availability in-game and in-forum. As I see it, the PLEX is still up almost 15% from the day it was released and that was only a couple months ago.
That the volume traded also continues to climb also suggests that it is because more PLEXes are finally being added to the market in-game. If the volume was staying the same or going down, one could argue that there aren't enough buyers and that is affecting the price people sell at. Instead, the volume is increasing and the price is dropping SLIGHTLY, which probably merely indicates that a lot of trade is moving from forums to in-game. Increasing the supply results in more sales and lower prices. Now, if you were seeing fewer sales and significantly lower prices together, it would be a significant indicator. |

It's cuz CCP plans on selling time codes directly so prices are gonna go down. Sellers know it so they are selling their codes right now while prices are at their peak. They will go down in price by spring anyhow.

Unlikely. It's the buffer between CCP and the actual transaction that allows them to get away with less criticism than they would get if they otherwise directly sold ISK and GTCs to players (and macro-farmer-isk-sellers).

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the concept of supply and demand, but with a retail box hitting and the push by CCP to get old players to come back to check out the expansion, the demand will be growing out of line from the supply. |

Not sure even what to think about that so I'll just go with.... Please visit your user settings to re-enable images.
Also, the background items are nothing to brag about. BPC's are not all that uncommon. It's only worth bragging if it has a number on it.
As for the OP. Come back with numbers in a week. A couple days worth proves nothing. |

Edited by: Shadow Lightbringer on 29/01/2009 01:22:06 Not sure if this is related to all this, but Shattered Crystal now has a, "Eve 30 Day Starter Pack" listed. You can't buy it yet, it's marked as, "Coming Soon", but it will be priced at $19.95.
Here is their description:
Quote: Eve-Online now offers a 30 day starter pack that allows you to create a new account, including 30 days of game time.
To play the game you need the EVE Online client.
Attention: This is for New Accounts only. This will not add an additional 30 days to your existing account. This is a New Account that includes 30 days of Game play.

Reading what you are quoting ftw!
That has been around for quite awhile. Maybe not through Shattered Crystal, but others have been selling them. A matter of fact I can guarentee that everyone posting in this thread has bought one of those atleast once. |

The '30-day starter pack' is similar to a CD-key. BattleClinic Deep Space Supply will also be selling these.
Some may buy EVE from a store (partnership with Atari) and others may download it directly. In the case of a direct download, you can purchase the 30-day "CD" key and get the same deal as the folks that buy the hard media.
BTW We thank you for making BattleClinic Deep Space Supply the number 1 authorized reseller of EVE-Online GTC.
