Been a while, but I use(d) a Domi for missions. It is a rather bullet proof ship. When I was grinding no tax refining standings for my alt I used a passive shield Myrmidon and found that it could tank just about as well as my Dominix in level 4s. Either option should work just fine for you. I know less than you think I do.

I use an armor tanked Dominix.
My gunnery skills aren't great so I equip salvage gear and salvage as my drones take care of all the ships. As somebody else says... they're pretty much bulletproof (though you may hit a stage or two that requires some attention to killing off some damage dealers before going salvaging).
You could probably knock them out much quicker with good gunnery skills and then come back to salvage. Some can take a while with drones alone for damage.

I used to do them in an armour/speed-tanked Myrm, with a PST Myrm standing by for the really DPS-heavy missions. Now I do them using the same kind of setup, except with an Ishtar: speed/armour for blasting through and turtletanking/PST for AFK or DPS-heavy missions. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

I ran them in a duel rep domi for years.
Basily,
hights - small rails + large nos (damage is from drons really but the nos will keep your tank going) mids - 100mn AB, cap recharge II's low's - 2 x LAR II, armor hardners and energised plates
RIG's - cople CCC + armor amount
Drones - a bunch of heavys, ogre II usaly works well and some small drones. |

Don't have an Ishtar ( miiiiles away ) but I would guess that altho a passive Myrm is a totally ridiculous tank, you'd be disappointed in the damage given it's current 75Mbit drone bandwidth. |

I'd stick with the Ishtar. The Myrm is inferior in every way that really counts to an Ishtar. Can't use 5 heavies/sentries (only has 75mbit of bandwidth), no gun bonuses, it has a nice tank bonus but that's negated by its much slower speed and larger sig.
Domi can tank a whole lot more raw DPS, but doesn't do much more DPS (too slow to use blasters effectively in a mission), unless you gank fit it. The drone DPS is identical though. |

I see only one thing with this set up I do not like, Swap out an energised/eanm for a DCU II, I think you will find that you gain a knat's willy on your armour resists and also gain a nice 15% extra across the range for your shield Buffer and, just for when you ago afk and return for that RED RED moment, you get 60% resists for your hull for free.

Mostly true, at least if you shield-tank them. If you go the armour route, the Myrm has a slight advantage in the larger number of tanking slots, which affords it more flexible resistance setup.
Against kin/therm enemies (Guristas, Serpentis), the Ishtar's T2 resists gives it an upper hand, but against everything else, the two additional hardeners you can fit on the Myrm means it will usually tank those other damage combinations better.
If you passive-tank them, the Myrm can also make up for some (but not all) of its lower drone capacity by fitting an impressive array of projectile weapons (no weapon bonus = no loss for fitting "odd" weapons ) and not run out of CPU/PG or cap. |
