We want to come forward and clear up a misunderstanding there seems to be regarding our official position. We denounce the ideology that happens to be dominant in Providence region.
Expectations that you must serve your landlord whatever it takes without getting nothing special in exchange is to be considered as a form of slavery and to be condemned as such. We do not want to be a part of that bizarre system and we are not taking orders from anyone regarding who should be our friends or enemies. It is our own decision and we enforce NBSI in Providence area too.

A wise decision indeed, to free yourself from the shackles of CVA blue list enforcement. Perhaps our goals may align in this region after all.

Good to see the Butterdog/O Thief and Ushra'khan crew jumping on the anti-CVA bandwagon - demonstrating once again their enduring bitterness at successful Amarrian stewardship of Holy Amarrian Providence.
With regard to this statement all I will say is that it was CVA who set Polaris Syndicate red after repeated misdeeds in holy Amarrian Providence.
Unlike other 0.0 alliances we do not ask anyone to pay us rent - nor do we even insist that they assist us in combating hostiles.
People who want to play a more active role in defending Providence are more than welcome to do this (it is after all in their own interest to keep the space they are operating in secure + it gives them some pew pew fun) but otherwise they can mind their own business and simply get on with trading/ratting/mining in peace, as many do.
There are no expectations that anyone serves us and if Polaris seem to be under the misguided impression that there was then I can only blame communication issues - or a deliberate attempt in their post to smear CVA. In view of the use of the word 'landlord' - when no rent was ever charged - I can only assume the latter.
Polaris Syndicate was one of MANY neutral/friendly individuals/corporations and alliances that do work with CVA and our allies to secure Amarrian Providence but unlike the majority Polaris seemed to believe that this entitled them to special dispensations.
Polaris Syndicate have now chosen a piratical path. Other than saddness that they have strayed off the true Amarrian path we have no issues with that.
Polaris Syndicate have - as stated at the beginning of this post - been set red. That means that like many other piratical criminals they will be considered targets if they venture into low-sec Amarrian space and Providence.
During their stay in Providence we came to respect the combat capabilities of many Polaris pilots and we are obviously saddened that their leadership has chosen this course. However we will, as we have always done, live with the consequences.

'Does not follow CVA red list' does not equal pirate, as well you know. You deprived them of the ability to set their own standings as an independent entity, which under your umbrella of course they never were.
You talk of not charging 'rent', well... how about payment in kind? Following your orders and your standings leads to the loss of countless of their ships in 'defence' of providence. The price they pay is more than ISK - it is time, and blood.
Providence residents will eventually realise, that the CVA slavers are not open to a relationship where they are not the master.

Of course it does. Anyone on our red list is on there for shooting either CVA (and allies) or neutrals in holy Amarrian Providence or low-sec Amarrian space.
That makes them 'pirates' in our book. Basically anyone on our red list = pirate and that includes BoB, -A-, Goons, Morsus Mihi or any other NBSI alliance which has at one time other visited those areas we protect and didn't respect our NRDS.
Now its highly likely that the vast majority of BoB members do not consider themselves pirates in the 'Yarrrr, shiver my timbers' mould, but tbh that doesn't matter. If they are on our red list its because they will kill neutrals in our, or Amarrian space, and that makes them pirates in our book! The same now applies to Polaris.
Originally by: O Thief You deprived them of the ability to set their own standings as an independent entity, which under your umbrella of course they never were.
Come on Butters the spin is frightfully poor.
1) We never deprived them of their ability to set their own standings. THEY CHOSE to come to Amarrian Providence therefore THEY CHOSE to live by our NRDS philosophy. We did not force them to shoot our reds but like the majority of people who move to Providence they WILLINGLY adopted our reds because it gave them the opportunity for some pew pew fun. The other major factor here is that the majority of our reds would probably have shot at them! Ushra'Khan is hardly a shining light on that score with your recent victimisation of SSI in Catch!
2) There are many neutral individuals, corporations and alliances that do take advantage of Amarrian Providence's delights without ever joining a defence gang or adopting CVA's standings and we have no problem with that at all as long as they don't start pirating CVA, our allies or other neutrals. Indeed many groups in Providence have mutual blue ratings with organisations that are on CVA's KOS list. Again we don't care provided they don't start actively helping our enemies.
Originally by: O Thief You talk of not charging 'rent', well... how about payment in kind? Following your orders and your standings leads to the loss of countless of their ships in 'defence' of providence. The price they pay is more than ISK - it is time, and blood.
As stated above NO ONE is forced to join defence gangs and many don't. The majority of people who do join defence gangs do so for a variety of reasons such as
1) Making the space they live in that bit more secure 2) To have some fun and shoot things (which after all is why the majority of us play this game)
There are THOUSANDS of people who live in the Deliverance area - hell our hostile reporting channels often have +1,000 people in them - do they all join defence gangs - of course not.
Some do and we are of course grateful and thank them for their efforts - but no one is forced to. That is the beauty of the system and that is why it continues to be successful (after 5 years) because it is based on willing partners willingly working together - and is not based on cooercion.
That is why when an organisation like Polaris decides to go a different route I may be sad that they feel it wasn't working for them and their playstyle, but its not the end of the world.
For every Polaris that decides to turn its back upon NRDS and Providence there are numerous other organisations coming round to our way of thinking!
Originally by: O Thief Providence residents will eventually realise, that the CVA slavers are not open to a relationship where they are not the master.
Ah Butterdog, the old 'divide and conquer' philosophy. Its just a pity that you still haven't worked out that the relationship between CVA and our allies in Providence is based on partnership and mutual benefit rather than that of Master and Slave.
(Of course there is nothing wrong with slavery )

That is actually a fair viewpoint however I think what annoyed some CVA was the fact that 'some' and I stress 'some' of you took advantage of your neutral status at the end to score some cheap kills.
If you had announced you were leaving and going NBSI before we had already set you red for shooting Providence residents then maybe it would have been seen in a better light!
As I said above I am sad that you chose to leave as I know many CVA liked you guys and your skills so I hope that you are successful wherever you go and that you eventually repent you sins and return to the Amarrian fold!

I know
Incidentally, this is one of the entities who had strategic assets deployed in Catch (which we removed as part of our campaign there against the friends of slavers).
I am personally delighted they have subsequently realised that slavery cannot be supported, or tolerated. I feel there is most definately scope for Polaris and U'K to find common ground and perhaps work togehter.

roleplay. if CVA renounced slavery, we'd just bugger off and find something else to do. its fun, being a terrorist is a laugh and lends itself to small gang pvp, something that most people in eve say they enjoy doing and cant get enough of.

I don't suppose anybody actually does. More that they fight "in" Providence. It's a fun environment: NRDS approach brings industrialists into the area, pirates come through to prey on the industrialists, combat patrols engage the pirates. (Okay, sometimes the pirates prey on our combat patrols as well ) It's really a very unique environment and it's a whole lot of fun. And yeah, I suppose we're a bit proud of it.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. You're quite misguided. CVA does respect other entities, and their forms of government/operation. After all... CVA and BLACK are quite friendly, and we're rather NBSI.

While there are alot of "Independent Entities" That live in providence and defend its stations and its citizens, there are those who choose to ascend morality and find their own way.
I personally admire and still have many good friends ( I hope you all still love me.) although we are currently red to eachother due to our status in a NBSI alliance, and while we regularly have pilots who "Vist" to play with our friends, we should all know its in good fun.
I have flown with both parties for 3+ years, and I respect both of them for what they represent, and it takes guts to "step out" from under the benevolence of the Amarrian loyalist regime of CVA. -MVN- The Maverick Navy

Sorry to say it. But CVA rely on the fact that they are really npc space inside player driven goals. One of my main gripes is that they have a bunch of horrible pvpers that use the anti pirate moniker as a farce. I mean wherever you go you are turned red the corp you go to is red by association red and what not. It's unjust. I locked and jammed a guy. That was it. And got set to red didnt make an attempt to kill him. Just messed with him. There ideals are flawed. The only reason no one is made a push for provi is its crap space. They charge you to dock. They charge you alot of things. Dignity for one. I mean if anyone really flew with cva they would know half of them dont use coms. Thats why people keep coming to kill them. But as many allys as they have in npc space its just a pain yeah i call provi npc space because it is. But I personally not my corp or anyone else in my alliance support this. I think most players who've been around the 0.0 game a few times give a tight lipped but ever-present nod to the work CVA has accomplished. Realistically speaking, running NRDS is really just one neutral cyno-alt away from a several hundred man dread fleet parked outside your stations. More to the point, whereas most alliances feel, and not unjustly, that you have to contribute and defend the space you profit from (regardless of the particular ethos) CVA are willing enough to use latent pressure.
The fact that they've done it while roleplaying Amarr holders is just added comedy gold

Originally by: O Thief Oh, without a doubt, CVA are my favourite 'enemy' in the game. I don't want them to lose Providence to anyone else!
(but they are still filthy slaver dogs who will find judgement at the end of my autocannons )
The catchphrase should go with "You'll find liberty at the end of my autocannons" Just because 'judgement' is somewhat used at the moment. (amarr titan) |

Do you, holders of Providence still remember how I made prophecy few weeks ago. I clearly told over and over again how I have seen this heresy to come upon us all. I was told that I just want to benefit my own goals and use you as a tool for my personal grudges. Now you see again how my prophecies has come to true as sinners walk amongst us. Maybe you should listem my wise words more carefully, for every time I have made prophecy that some of our friends are indeed poisonous snakes, I have been rught. I can see sinners even when they are disguised themselves with sweet words and modest behaviour.
This beginning. This birth of life. This dawn of greatness. I can not fail, for I have the Emperor to lead me and destiny to follow. undefined |
