I currently use a dom with 6x heavy neutron blasters (cruiser guns), cap rechargers, mwd, overdrives, ogres, and armor tank stuff. This usually gets the job done quickly (close range setups seem to be faster, and more fun  ). Is there another bs (tier 1 or tier 2) that would get the job done faster? What setup do you use?

Any BS is overkill for type 3 missions 
Although an Armageddon (or even Apoc) is considered the best NPC BS out there you aren't going to make back what you spend on it if you already have a Domi set-up that works.

I know its overkill, but its faster  . Also, I have a bad habit of not paying attention when i get to the mission WP, with a cruiser i would be dead, with a bs, my shields are down. I would consider getting an armageddon or apoc, since i could also use it for mining. Any setups?

Megathron is probably the best option for using large guns against smaller targets, thanks to the 5% tracking bonus for large hybrids. If you like overkill strategies it can also fit a siege or two for torping cruisers...

Armageddon with Mega Pulse lasers. Tier 1 BS with good damage output, high tracking, and no ammo costs.
