Edited by: NaBeRa on 29/01/2009 08:36:49 Hello.
some days ago, we had a engagement in lowsec. We tried to pay a open bill to some fellow mates playing with us the game. http://killboard.the-initiative.com/?a=kill_related&kll_id=6890
To makeit short, as far as i know, the role of a Heavy Interdictor is to tackle Ships, that otherwise cant be tackled, like MoMs and Titans. That is with the current game mechanics not possible.
As you see with the upper link, our engagemtn included several HICs, which all were not able to tank the opposite forces. while i am aware, that a single HIC should not be able to tank such a large fleet, there should be a way to prevent him from dieing.
The game mechanics are currently, that HICs cannot be remote repaired while their point is active.
I suggest to chance the mechanics. Possible solution:
Allow Remote Repair for HICs (in Lowsec?) while the focused warp disruption scipt is used, to compensate for not being able to use Interdiction Spheres to tackle MoMs.
any other solutions are wellcome :)

HICs shoudl be RRepairable while usign the focused script. But as compensation they should have less HP/resdists. ITs stupid that a HIC can defeat ANY hac on direct combat due to its massive tank. |

I see and I know what you mean. Now comes the question:
Should a HIC be able to tank a capital ship better than a dictor can tank a BS / HAC? I'd like to see RR on HICs, really. But I can see the whinings coming...

Heavy Interdictor - H.I. Heavy Assalt Ship - H.A.S. Assault Ship - A.S.
You guys sound like a bunch of internet ******s. Special olympics much?
At least you got Battleship right. Though the real life designation is BB.

Offtopic and you're wrong anyway. The community and CCP defines the acronyms. By your own definition you are calling the people in RL who designated Battleships as BB to be ******s, because it should be BS too if you take the first letters.

Edited by: Fullmetal Jackass on 30/01/2009 05:26:57 Funny cause if you look them up in the item database, they are listed just as I typed them. CCP did define them.
Designation is diferent from an acronym btw. Might wanna look that up as well.

For peeing, silly!
OT: Just allow RR when using the focused point; maybe lower HICtor sensor strength/range a little to make it easier to get away if you're on your own. |

the HIC has such a tank because it is a 0.0 ship and is a bubbler so you think what it would be like against 10x that fleet when its primiry because its the biggest threaht ;) |

What's it matter? This is also totally off topic, if you want to call the rest of EVE idiotic, do it in your own thread.
Anyway, HIC's need their tank because of their role. What would be the point of a ship that does that job if it evaporated as soon as it was met by the radiation from enemy sensors? |

i would say that if you are going to allow remote repairs on the hictor, you need to lower hte range on the infini-point so the hic is forced to come into range of the faction webbers new range.

HICs have an excellent tank - especially the Phobos as it does not need to sacrifice tank for sensor boosters.
Do you want to make them completely invulnerable?

i dont see the necessity, for HICs being remoterepped, while their bubble or infinipoint is on. two HICs one with point/ bubble up the other being repped , switching this back and forth and the problem is solved, teamplay is required though...

hi, ok this sounds odd by a newbish char which looks like he has no clue about what he is talking about (like most of the ppl in this thread) BUT easy said you did some oopsis. i spend 5minutes looking deep into the killboard battlereport and into the single hic loss mails and i directly found some major mistakes you (consider you were the fc) and your hic pilots did. i realy dont like to say on a puplic forum the best strategies and ways ect cos it took some time to work them out. (nobody hostile/neutral is telling me any good strategies for situation 0815 so why should i give away my advantage) so best thing you can do is tell your hics to work out how to tackle moms. you got some moms and got hic pilots. tell them to work it out(inclusive fitting, cos thats not good as well). start with 1 hic trying to tackle a mom.. then 1 hic 2 moms. if the hic did not learn anything withing 5 minutes the pilot is useless, take a other pilot. if you were fc you should take part in the test and learn something about attacking supercaps.
for everybody screaming "hics should be RR-able": you have never flown a supercap or you have no idea how to propper use a hic to tackle one. if you think it works like camping a gate bubble up and wait, you are wrong.

How about expecting people to pay attention in english class and knowing what an acronyms is, rather then making them up based on how they sound when you try to make a word out of them?
Pardon me for thinking people should be educated rather then goin with popular culture.

The way I see it...The acronyms are ok.
Heavy Interdictor Cruiser. HIC sounds much better than saying HI...Try using that in a conversation. That gang just killed my HI!
HAC, Heavy Assault Cruiser. HAS? Yea, same thing, try using that in a conversation.
Whatever acronym is simpler to use and say will always overcome what they originated from. Also, LOL at your comment about paying attention to English class...
"an acronyms is" "then goin"

Your killboard has an "Eve Fitting Tool" [For Exporting/Inporting] option. How about learning how to use Eve Fitting Tool?
This guy here: Kimara'Cretak
If he guy had all level 5 skills his cap would only last 46 seconds. After that he's dead. (So a longer cap life would be good.)
This next guy has all level 5 skills his cap would only last 1 minute and 5 seconds; Assuming he's not being Nos'd or Nueted: Jack Delling
Finally someone who's cap stable, however with his (lack of) resistances he's only got a defense of 334: Morvrin
Which means a half decent battlecruiser could kill him!
They would [better] survive if you knew how to fit them out!
Edit: P.S. I have nothing to do with the battle in question: I am not a member of either party.

Saw the killmails, found them sucky.
Flying they onyx myself, and the first thing to keep in mind is; YOU ARE THE TACKLER.
What does that mean? Well, let me spell it out for you (for the Onyx):
* Don't waste PG on fitting full rack of HML's, you're not there for the dps. * Fit the nastiest passive buffer tank you can. (Inv field x 2, LSE x 4 and PDU/SPR's) * Don't bother with EM shield reinforcers, it's not like the enemy blob will be fitting all EM dmg just to pop your bubble.

Naw, unfortunately they didn't give a rats ass. Screwed me 7 ways from sunday. Ya gotta be an officer to be treated like a human being in the US Navy.
Still, it built character, and I learned quite a bit. It wasn't all bad. Thanks for asking though. |

Typos and dialect for the win. At least I'm not callin' a heavy interdictor a hick, or a heavy assault ship a hack. (note the apostrophe denoting the missing letter "g") |
