So, since the latest (.5) patch - the client crashes a few minutes after I open it and once I've logged on. Is there going to be a revert patch?
I haven't had a single successful upgrade yet :( Always had to revert it to the original |

I've had three exception errors this morning within the first half hour of play. Yesterday I was online the whole day and had no problems.

I've gone from 2-3 cursor vanishing in a week to 3-5 times in evening. Thus fixing it so that I can actually see the cursor unleashes the memory leak...nice gaming.
Good patch, good patch. I do know you (CCP) ain't going to make any fixes on the classic mac client, but how about not screwing it up more! It's hard enough already to actually run the game. |

Same here, except restarting my MBP did not help. WTF changed last night?
Or is the connection from where I live (Japan) to london a bit wonky? It seems like even my BT downloads are having connection problems to most peers. |

I'm having the same problem on my MBP. It seems like the client works fine for a few hours and then it crashes, if I just try to restart the client it will crash within a few minutes again. If I reboot the laptop it works fine again for a few hours. Don't think heating or memory are a problem, the laptop is on one of those elevated stands with plenty of airflow underneath & I have 4gb of ram. I guess there's a new patch coming out in March.... |

Same Problem here, with my MBP that i bought last week.
1) Boot up eve. 2) log in. 3) select character. 4) undock 5) Game Hangs 6) quit 7) Repeat
I had to follow those 7 steps about 10 times during one mission just to get it completed. I have re-installed the client about 4 times, changed the port im connecting on, updated everything's software/firmware, played in a window, closed all other internet related apps, and no change in results. I currently have a petition open that I am waiting to hear back on. From what i hear the premium graphics content patch "should" fix some of the problems. |

I got a response from my petition, this seemed to help a little, still hangs once in a while but no where near as much. From: GM Retrofire
Have you tried changing one of the rendering options for the client?
Here are the steps to do it :
1. Open Finder 2. Hit shift-apple-G 3. Type: ~/Library/Preferences/EVE Online Preferences/ 4. Open the config file 5. Find the GLSL line and change the value from "Y" to "M"
Hope this helps those with the same problem.

Well that minor fix helped but not enough in the end, the other thing i was asked to do if changing Y to M didnt help was:
If this does not help at all could you send us the following so we can determine if this is somehow related to your internet connection.
1. Go to Applications > Utilities and double click on Terminal 2. Write 'telnet 87.237.38.200 26000' and wait for the process to finish. If the Command Prompt gives you an error and fails, you are most likely running a firewall of some sort which is blocking the traffic from your computer to our servers. You will need to fix that. However, if the window generates some scrambled letters, you are successfully contacting the servers and you'll need to make a traceroute.
The Network utility can be found under /Applications/Utilities/NetworkUtility.app
Start it up and go to Traceroute, this is the tool we most rely on to diagnose if there are any problems on the way to our server. In the input window type 87.237.38.200 ( Tranquilities IP ) and press the Trace button. When the trace has completed press File and select Print, there select Save as PDF and save the document to a location you remember.
Attach the file to a petition, from the my petitions section on the website, so we can take a look.
I have done this latest step already. After the 12th traceroute test i stop getting actual results and start getting *** until the process ends. |
