the GBP cost of a 60 game code is now ú33, even if i buy one to sell it for isk some fool is just gonna try to bargin me down, or some other fool will sell it for monkey money just to get a sale.

Seriously, wait about 6-8months and the pound should gain some strength on the euro and dollar adn everything will be back where it should be. otherwise start investing in the euro currency, its not CCPs fault that the economy is in teh drain |

But if we convince everyone that it is CCP's fault, then the perception will become that it is their fault, and thus it will actually be their fault. |

I think I'm completely lost on the original poster's point. You bought 3 months from what site? You didn't give a link or a name. Further, you can get a three month subcription directly from CCP for just a little over 38 euros, already.
Also, it's irrelevant. Players ALREADY pay ISK to buy game time that runs GTC sellers about $17.50/mo, even though they could buy directly from CCP at as low as $10.95/mo, so I don't really see what the hell his point is. |

His debit card is not accepted directly by CCP (they have been having intermittant problems with debit cards, even I had a problem with mine for half a year and used to buy GTCs with ISK until it was solved eventually). He managed however to use his debit card via paypal to pay for his subscription (in)directly to CCP.

A 60 day GTC cost ú26. I bought one a few days ago. I have no idea why you would pay in Euros when there are loads of sites selling them in dollars and as such with the exchange rate it comes out at about ú26. |

Its more than likely he's got a maestro which CCP still seem to ignore is quite a major debit card in europe, but I think basically what the op has discovered is that paying for 3 months via the subscription is now only a lil more expensive than 2 month etc's which isn't new. Its called economies of scale, if the op looks at all the subscriptions plans on offer you'll notice they'll progressively get cheaper per month the higher the total game time he pays for in one lump sum.
He seems to have overlooked that probably the majority of ETC's are always sold on for isk rather than directly used by the subscriber, basically by keeping etc prices high compared to the subscription cost artificially keeps isk trading from becoming massively rampant, because etc sellers think they're getting a slightly raw deal. |

Because ú26/60day = 0.43/day, while 38 Euro = ú33, and ú33/90day = 0.36/day So about 15% cheaper.

What do you mean ú33/90 days? I believe the OP was complaining that it was ú33 for a 60 day GTC.

re-read the OP then.
38 euro for a 3-month subscription. 38 euro = 33 GBP at current exchange rate.
P.S. Yes, he did make the mistake of claiming a 60-day GTC would also be worth 33 GBP (instead of the 25-26 GBP he can get it for). And he also made the mistake of claiming GTCs are dead, but that's patently untrue since most GTCs are bought for sale against ISK, not for paying your own subscription.

Well, yes, we're agreeing that he made some mistakes. One mistake, actually, the price in GBP of a GTC. And also reached the wrong conclusion, but for different reasons. But he did make a valid point, namely that it's cheaper to subscribe (and gets cheaper the more months you pay in advance) than to buy GTCs to pay your accounts with. And he also made another somewhat valid point, that you can use "pay by cash" via paypal to subscribe if for some reason CCP's billing system doesn't accept your debit card (this assumes paypal's does).

Just made a thread on a similar subject.
Please make game time payable in GBP for UK customers, at the pre-existing rate.
Unfortunately for me, I am going to Amsterdam next year and will require about 7,000 GBP to survive, however, due to the economic crisis, this figure has risen to around 10,000 GBP.
that is inconceievable.. Hopefully things re-stabilise in 6 months time, but now the IMF is saying the UK will be worst performer of economically developed countries, things are going to turn crappy.
However, our international competitiveness increases, so maybe our economy can get this needed reboot and people will start investing in our country again.
Either way, I'm very annoyed right now.
