Hey I'm sure this is something that a lot of people would like and I can't seem to find any information about it, so im posting here in the Newbie QA. Is there anyway to put the client on dual monitors? |

If you want one client full screen across both monitor, then look at your video card driver options for a setting that will have the dual monitor emulate a single large monitor.
Otherwise, use windowed mode to position the client(s) where you want them. |

I regularly use multiple monitors to play the game, but I only put a windowed client on each monitor. |

You can have a try with the Matrox DualHead2Go Digital Edition by Matrox.
Just saw a photo on flickr with EVE, but I cannot find it anymore... |

I tried running dual monitor... my nVidia card allowed me to make my monitor 3840x1280 (on 2 24in flatscreens) but everything was 'central' to the screen which is the break between the two monitors. However, I was able to solve the issue with the addition of another video card and 3 monitors, so all my combat stays center and I can adjust everything else, left/right. My wife says I need to get a new hobby... |

I had a question about dual monitors.
Is it possible to have a setup where the second monitor is just black space that windows like Market and Fittings can be placed. This will leave the main screen cleaned up.
I remember seeing this setup in 'the game that shall be unnammed' but wasn't a mod to my knowledge. I do not want a stretch over both monitors as the gap in the middle drives me batty.
Thanks, |

No - it isnt. WOW was written to allow this but, so far, Eve hasnt been. Didnt see anything about it for the March Expansion either :(

*shrug* You could upgrade to a wife with more nerdy interests. Mine actually loves computers and doesn't hassle me that much about spending hour after hour playing eve.

It is possible to do it without the split going down your ship with a bit of tweaking of the monitor setup itself, but it's a bit of a hassle of getting things right every time you go to play EVE as monitors don't tend to have an auto-adjust setting for a saved setup.
Basically setup the client as you normally would with it split down your ship in the middle, and then shift one or both monitors to one direction (I prefer shifting left and having the NeoCom on the right to save having to adjust for the station menu) until your ship is on one monitor. You will have a chunk of the game missing from your screen, but by moving the screen left you don't really lose anything important... unless you make much use of the system information in the top left.
I've used it a few times when I need more space to do a mixture of activities, haven't tried it in a combat situation but I don't think losing the left side of the screen would matter too much. Takes about 20-30 minutes to get it just right with my monitors each time. I wouldn't say it's worth doing on a regular basis.
Alternatively, you should be able to have you desktop split over two monitors like normal and then open the game using the set resolution in windowed mode and drag it to the side a little for the same effect. I haven't used this method myself because I tend to find when a game is windowed and doesn't sit on the screen properly that it has a reduction in rendering speed.
Would be good for the development team to look into a built-in solution... once they finish implementing the next expansion and deal with any issues that crop up after. |

you can move the thing that shows your cap, shield/armor/hull hp, and your modules left and right now
