jaspet and kernite are best ores in 0.5 and above.
Kernite in 0.5 can be found in the area below amarr, say around tew and such.
everything up from J (so the H's, Gneiss and up) are low sec only, with bistot and arkonor, spodumain and criockite only on 0.0

this is the common setup for ore and systems
scordite - every belt in eve veldspar - every belt in eve pyrox - found in 0.8 systems down kernite - common in 0.3 systems but can be found in upto 0.6 Plagioclase - found in 0.6 systems and below Omber - found in 0.6 systems down Jaspet - found in 0.6 space Hemorphite - found in 0.3 space Hedbergite - found commonly in 0.1-0.2 space Gneiss - found in 0.0 space(some rare single asriods found in 0.1 space) Dark Ochre - found in 0.0 space(some rare single asriods found in 0.1 space) Spodumain - found in 0.0 space(some rare single asriods found in 0.1 space) Crokite - found in 0.0 space(some rare single asriods found in 0.1 space) Bistot - found in 0.0 space(some rare single asriods found in 0.1 space) Arkonor - found in 0.0 space(some rare single asriods found in 0.1 space) Mercoxit - found in 0.0 space, needs deep core mining to mine it, whilest mining, creates cloud that damages ur shields
i hope this help's u a bit, as defencive with all turret's used as mining lasers ,using drones as defence it's best to keep to these ranges
frigate - 1.0 space to 0.8 space using 3 light drones/light missiles
cruiser - 1.0 space to 0.5 space using meduim drones
Battleship - 1.0 space to 0.2 space using heavy drones/heavy missiles/torp's/cruiser missiles
these are the things most people use, skilled people might use different things, also, beware the 0.4-0.5 systems and below, as this is where pirates can camp gates(pvp player pirates)

A cruiser with Heavy Drones can mine all the way done to 0.1. Same for a bs. Just make sure you have warp stabs ---------------------------

However, I must make one correction as I have found Plagioclase in 0.7 systems. ------------------------------------So many skills, so little time... |

Just a couple of addendums:
Plagioclase can be found in 0.9 systems in Gallente space. Pyrox can be found in 0.9 systems in Amarr space. Omber can be found in 0.7 systems and (I think) as high as 0.8 systems in Gallente space.

Way off topic, but hey ...
The movie was called 'Army of Darkness' though sometime it's referred to as 'Evil Dead II' since it's the sequel to 'Evil Dead' in some respects. Excellent movie, and entirely quotable.

Edited by: allmus on 03/08/2004 12:22:09 just some quick point's
1,the list was a general rules, and with all rules, there are exception, but that list is a basic guidline
2, it's a quote from army of darkness(which is evil dead 3) i think america has called it by a different name, but that joe campbell thing can't be right as the star's (bruce campbell) char is called ash in both evil dead 2 and 3
it's from the part where he comes up from the well, turn's and shoot's the chain, then kick's the peasents heads in for throwing him down there in the 1st place
3. about the rare's spawning (gonna get killed for this)..... check out awra, it's a 0.2 system, one of the belt's has a rock formation near it. 1 riod of gneiss, 1 spod, and 2 dark ochre spawn there, most of the time they are mined clear, but they do exist there, i mined them about 1 month ago
4. the basic mining setup's for the ship classes are for new player who don't have much skill's and u don't need warp stabbers on unless u see known PvP pirates in the area, as after the npc interceptor addtion npc can no-longer warp jam u, on ceptors can and they are based with BS's in 0.0 space.(never seen a interceptor npc in empire yet!)
i hope that help's you more

Just a correction.. Battleships can mine in 0.0 space solo, and use drones for defense (even against battleships). Also, I've never seen any of the higher end ores above 0.0.. At all.

Edited by: allmus on 04/08/2004 14:33:58 gordano, have u ever looked for them??
they aren't gonna spawn in with the belt's, there are NO rare ore's in any belt's until 0.0 systems
the rare single riods i talk about were about 300km's away from 1 of the belt's, they were spawning around a rock formation, about 10 riods in total, 1 gniess, 2 dark ochre,1 spod and about 6 veldspar.
with more rare ore in empire space, if u don't know it's there, ur not likely to see it
only reason i saw it was that some1 said there was some in a system, then i warped around all the belts, planet's, and gates untill i saw something
also, a frigate can mine 0.5 space, a indy ship can mine 0.9 space, and a cruiser can mine a 0.2 space BUT what i put on my post was a guideline, if u have enough skill's and the right equipment then u can mine ANYWHERE. those ship classes i put and the sec rating's were for use as a NEW PLAYER in those ship's, some1 who doesn't have 5 mill skill point's already, who can't buy tech2 items or good named ones yet

so you just looked on the "Name" tab of the scanner when you were at every planet/belt, or did you use the Range/Directional Scanners? Could you just scan the whole system with a BB, or would that not get everything? Auction your items for isk, works sort of like ebay. |

Jubba's an old roleplaying character - his character has developed over a long time, and in many different worlds & forms - though it's most often impossible to stick in character compleatly, I think it does add some fun to the whole thing.
Jubba's defining characteristic? He's addicted to the taste of human flesh - so he fights & kills to get what he needs. Course, he hates himself for it, and the inner turmoil creates more than a little mental imbalance as a result... ------------------------------------------------
