I've been using my laptop to play eve recently and with the completion of my new desktop PC I was wondering if it was possible to copy the folders in my people & places which are on my laptop to my desktop PC? I only want the folders in my p&p, nothing else.
Thanks |

the bookmarks are kept on the server, I just need the folders that were created in my p&p on my laptop and move them down to my desktop PC ---------------------------------------------- "We live and breathe and choose our own destiny." |

I think those are stored in the Eve\Cache\Settings folder. Copy that over and you should have your folders..
Not sure though

Greetings!
Folders are definitely not held on the server-found this out the hard way as I deleted and re-installed EVE just days ago...400 bookmarks all mixed in 1 big lump with no folders...times 4 accounts :( Will be days before I have them all straightened out again. Not sure exactly which file holds them though.

copying the cache folder MAY copy over settings. b/c if you delete this folder restest all your settings and also your folder setup for agents and bm's etc

I can confirm that copying the cache/settings folder across to another install does indeed copy the folders. I have done this many times, and make regular backups. I learnt that lesson the hard way ;)

It would be good also if the bookmarks were sorted by names when you choose one from the 'my places' in space.. There are sorted in the 'my people and places' but not in space...
