I've never used minmatar ships before, hell, I'm not even trained for them or the guns, but I'm curious as to how well the minmatar ships rat, especially concerning the hurricane and the amount of space the ammo takes up. Compared to hybrid ammo are we talking less space or more? And is the damage choice worth the trade off in raw damage?

I use a hurricane to rat guristas on my alt.
Highs: 6x 425mm ACs, Tractor/Salvager, Proto Cloak
Meds: 10mn AB II, Invuln II or Kinetic II, 2x LSE II
Lows: 1x PDU, 2x SPR II, 3x Gyrostab II's (i think, might be 3x SPR II)
Drones: 1x Vespa II 4x Hornet II's
Does great DPS with decent gunnery skills and I use either Barrage or Titanium Sabot M for ratting, both have the highest Kinetic damage of all the AC ammo... 10k of each fits in cargo, so you can pick range or cheap... whichever. Normally takes me about 4 hours of ratting to go through 10k ammo, so I can get a good 8 hours on a full cargohold |

Rigs and drones to taste, I use shield resist rigs to match the main damage type of the rat as these are cheap as hell.
If you have trouble fitting (This needs AWU IV and a 3% cpu implant) drop a tracking enhancer for a power diagnostic system or similar. I like having a warp disruptor so I can tackle anyone who tries to jump me.
If arties aren't to your taste I find a Vagabond makes a better autocannon ratter as it's much faster. Use the same tank, 2 lse plus shield rigs.
Being able to pick the right damage type is definitely beneficial as far as cargohold goes I've not had issues but I usually have station access or am in npc space when I'm ratting so not a drama to dock up and grab more...

If you're only looking for faction/officer spawns, just use a triple-gyro Vaga and ninja rat behind enemy lines. I've taken Cormack/Stele/Chelm and a few other officers with it.
The downside is that you can't carry that much ammo, and you'll kill stuff slower than in a Hurricane or Pest for example. Also not that great to chain rats because of the same reasons.
