in order to do this you need to have 2 accounts setup. so basically you have to pay for 2 accounts then you log-on to both at the same time and can use both

if you have 2 accounts to access (as mentioned above) just start another copy of eve. to cut down on cpu/mem requirements a bit, turn of Ship Occluded By Sun in the options panel.

I've heard that Eve can get rather choppy when running dual accounts unless you have a good computer and a VERY good internet connection.,
I don't do it myself, so I can only say what I've heard.

Definitely turn off the sun occlusion, this does help a lot when running two accounts on one PC.
A bigger help is to disable sound on both clients, by pressing CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F12 ingame. This does make a huge difference in performance on both Eve clients.

Connection speed makes very little difference, it's certainly no different to sharing a net connection between two PCs. The only time you'll notice is if both ships are in bandwidth heavy situations (big battles and market browsing being the obvious ones).
You do need a powerful PC though, 3D graphics cards aren't really built for multi-tasking. No signature... yet. |

Another trick is to disable the UI using Ctrl-F9 in the session you are not using. This gives a few FPS boost.
I've also found a slight improvement by making two seperate installations of EVE, instead of running the same one twice.

You definately want to turn of the "Sun Occluding" feature, otherwise you will generally see one of the clients crashing out frequently.
Killing the sound on one account is a good idea as well, but it depends on your hardware and what your audio is set for. Killing just the music seems to work just as well.
Also, creating a second EVE directory is a good idea, since you can modify the settings for one account without effecting the other.

ive run up to 3 version of eve at the same time on one comp. 1 was a real account and the others were trial versions. i think setting graphics to 15 bit with xalpha or something makes it run fine, but it brings u down to a few colors and looks like dead cat.

Yep, it's possible, and you just have to install 1 copy of Eve! Turn off as much as you like but I can run 3 copies of Eve with my pIV 2800 with a radeon 9600SE and 512 ram... There are way better pc's than this one so 2 shouldn't be a prob at all (I even run Winamp and Trillian and IE in the meanwhile, allthough it gets very choppy changing windows with 3 clients )
But otherwise I have 20-30 fps with 3 clients on!

Agree - I run two sessions of the single install for mining purposes.
After reading it here I may try installing a second Eve program to run both.
It gets a little choppy while mining, but nothing that interferes in gameplay whatsoever.
An occassional crash does happen. Wallets are reported wrongly sometimes, too.
Te biggest problem is that sometime I get two full-zied Eve windows (even at Alt+Enter minimized), and sometimes I get two (or eve one) smaller minimized window. CLicking and dragging won't increase or decrease the size, so I have to work with whatever size windows I get. I normally only need to view two reduced cargo-hold and a jet-can windows, so i easily move ore between them and can see both sets at the same time.
